Omniscience is such a church word. I guess it would have to be because God is the only one who is. He hasn't abandoned the method. 1) Question the existence of God's standard - "Did God really say? 2) Cast doubt on God's motives for establishing the standard - "God knows that when you eat.you will be like God"(v.5). 3) Deny the consequences of violating the standard - "You will not surely die" (v.4).
