8220;The press is the enemy.” – Richard M. Nixon →. ABC Nightline on Paleo. March 11, 2011. Should be interesting to see how I do paleo-wise while we’re skiing this weekend, what with all the delicious french fries, pizza, grilled cheese, and candy at the mountain! The countdown begins! | Running for Bread

I got double unders! May 6, 2011. I leave for Tough Mudder TODAY! My last couple workouts before the big race…. Last Wednesday my track workout was 8×400 at 5K pace with a 200-m recovery run between… nothing too difficult but was definitely a good lesson on knowing what my pace feels like. Last Thursday I was late to class so got to do a fun 20 burpees, 10 pushups, 10 squats and 10 situps to start the morning! Wednesday was my last track workout for Coach Steve and he gave me a quick and easy one! Today ...

ABC Nightline on Paleo. Just call me Tarzan. →. 8220;The press is the enemy.” – Richard M. Nixon. March 15, 2011. Push press we did 45, 55, 65, and 75. For the 5th round I tried 85 and was nowhere near getting it, so jumped back down to 80 for an extra set but it just wasn’t happening today. Needs to teach me how to drop the bar. The challenge today was a prowler push two turf lengths with 50# on it. Very fun little race, and left me with a nice burn in my quads and glutes. My new custom jumprope! Enter ...

Just call me Tarzan. Filthy Fifty →. April 4, 2011. Lots of workouts to log on here, so bear with me. WOD 3/24/11: 30-25-20-15-10 burpees, KB swings (20#), toes-to-bar. Scaled toes-to-bar to knees-to-elbows, but did good burpees. Finished in 34:45. That Saturday (the 26th) I woke up and went to my first running club session bright and early and asked Coach Steve to make me a training program from the Tough Mudder! And finished 5 1/2 rounds in the time limit. Post-WOD we did max broad jumps for distan...

I got double unders! | Running for Bread
https://runningforbread.wordpress.com/2011/04/26/i-got-double-unders
I got double unders! April 26, 2011. So the Saturday after my last post I missed running club and barely made it to the Team WOD on time… drank so much the night before that I don’t even remember what we did after the 10-min. AMRAP of WOD 3 (of which I managed only 60 bar-facing burpees and no overhead squats… struggles). And my score was 12. A bunch of us working on our toes-to-bar. Yesterday I PR’d my mile time AGAIN (3rd time in a month? Anddd for my favorite news: I GOT MY DOUBLE UNDERS TODAY! Notify...

Filthy Fifty | Running for Bread
https://runningforbread.wordpress.com/2011/04/14/filthy-fifty
I got double unders! April 14, 2011. Last Tuesday’s workout was a tough one! Wednesday Coach Steve had me running 3 rounds of a 200-m, 400-m, and 600-m run (rest = the time it took to run the interval) in the rain. So that kind of sucked. D-town’s terrible track was good and flooded in a couple spots and it was wet and cold… gave me a little motivation to get it over with and get home, though. Though at the end I felt like I definitely could have done more. So my Filthy 40 went like this:. Meghan's ...

Newer posts →. March 10, 2011. Today Dave had us warm up with 12 KB swings, 6 pullups, and 4 turf sprints… we did 5 rounds but I’m pretty sure I was sufficiently warm after about 2. After that we had some fun and worked on handstands into front rolls (2nd grade gymnastics class anyone? I can usually get one after 2 normal hops, but can’t keep the rope going afterwards… the video below will show you where I am stuck and gives some decent tips I’m going to have to try out. I was so surprised that they were...

8220;The press is the enemy.” – Richard M. Nixon. Playing Catch-up →. Just call me Tarzan. March 23, 2011. Last Thursday we worked on double unders and power snatch. With my new jumprope the double unders are coming much easier, and Dave taught us a technique of establishing a double-single-single-single-double rhythm which helps a lot. As it starts coming more consistently, I’ll drop down to two singles, then one, then hopefully none! This entry was posted in Crossfit. Playing Catch-up →. You are commen...
