Poems that speak to me

Poems that speak to me. Tuesday, 20 September 2011. I was thinking of a son. The womb is not a clock. Nor a bell tolling,. But in the eleventh month of its life. I feel the November. Of the body as well as of the calendar. In two days it will be my birthday. And as always the earth is done with its harvest. This time I hunt for death,. The night I lean toward,. The night I want. It was in the womb all along. I was thinking of a son . The never acquired,. The never seeded or unfastened,. Two name tags,.

Poems that speak to me: Aqueous Transmission

http://thelivesofpoets.blogspot.com/2011/02/aqueous-transmission.html

Poems that speak to me. Friday, 4 February 2011. I used to love this band and someone sent me one of their songs today. After a couple of years it was like revisiting an old friend and I've always loved the lyrics to this song combined with the music. I hope that you enjoy it too. I'm floating down a river. Oars freed from their holds long ago. Lying face up on the floor of my vessel. I marvel at the stars. And feel my heart overflow. Further down the river. Further down the river. Further down the river.

Poems that speak to me: Sadness and Joy

http://thelivesofpoets.blogspot.com/2011/02/sadness-and-joy.html

Poems that speak to me. Sunday, 20 February 2011. I pray you, Sadness, leave me soon,. In sweet invention thou art poor! Thy sister, Joy can make ten songs. While thou art making four. One hour with thee is sweet enough;. But when we find the whole day gone. And no created thing is left -. We mourn the evil done. Thou art too slow to shape thy thoughts. In stone, on canvas, or in song;. But Joy, being full of active heat,. Must do some deed ere long. Thy sighs are gentle, sweet thy tears;.

Poems that speak to me. Thursday, 30 December 2010. The Death of the Old Year. Full knee-deep lies the winter snow,. And the winter winds are wearily sighing:. Toll ye the church bell sad and slow,. And tread softly and speak low,. For the old year lies a-dying. Old year you must not die;. You came to us so readily,. You lived with us so steadily,. Old year you shall not die. He lieth still: he doth not move:. He will not see the dawn of day. He hath no other life above. Old year you must not go;. What i...

Poems that speak to me: Death is Small Than I Thought

http://thelivesofpoets.blogspot.com/2011/02/death-is-small-than-i-thought.html

Poems that speak to me. Monday, 7 February 2011. Death is Small Than I Thought. My Mother and Father died some years ago. I loved them very much. When they died my love for them. Did not vanish or fade away. It stayed just about the same,. Only a sadder colour. And I can feel their love for me,. Same as it ever was. Nowadays, in good times or bad,. I sometimes ask my Mother and Father. To walk beside me or to sit with me. So we can talk together. Or be silent . They always come to me. It's very simple -.
