Its getting good and dark in Olso now, with rain and fog and not really snow or ice yet. I've still been driving a Nihola to work as its the easiest for for me to get my son to and from his daycare. A brighter, more focused red with a dimmer, unfocused white. A fork-crown light mounted on a Nihola. So thats the story of lighting for Nihola.

Gravel downhills work great too, so long as the bumps are not large enough to start throwing people and trikes around. The tires and frame can smooth out a half-decent gravel road very well with a kid or two in the box, and it just seems to get smoother with speed. just avoid washboard and holes. Oslo seems to have a growing cargo bike movement. But Norwegians as a rule are very serious about being hardcore, transforming stretchpants into every day attire, and when it comes to cargo bikes, they prefer two wheels. I assume to be sporty. So gear hubs are a bit limited compared to derailleur gears when it comes to input torque. I've been playing with gear hubs and high torque for some years, and two things come to mind:. Torque can plain break the hub (done that). My one line verdict: Rohloff is flawless, or an Alfine if you don't need perfection.
