The Long and Lonely Road. The stories of my long and lonely road to becoming an ultrarunner. Tuesday, November 25, 2008. And So It Begins. So I did my first run today since the Marine Corps Marathon! Anyways, I spent 20 minutes on the bike (just over 6 miles) then got off and ran 2 miles. Did a few sets of pushups right afterwards, and I'm a bit. Tired right now. Overall, it took me about 45 minutes. Not bad for a month off from running, huh? And thus my journey continutes. Monday, November 24, 2008.

First, Mount Whitney is the highest point in the lower 48 states. Second, and most importantly to me, its where the finish line is to the Badwater Ultramarathon. I was TDY again, so here's my Country Music Marathon race report, a week late. The bands on the course were actually quite entertaining. For not being a country fan, I enjoyed having them to look forward to. Walking most of the second half of the race meant it went longer in between bands, but I enjoyed listening to them perform as we walked past.

Things have been busy! And will continue to get busier! My bridal shower in on Sunday at my house in Pennsylvania! We've had friends mailing us gifts since the shower is in PA and we live in Florida. All of my gifts I put on my health blog. Because most of them are kitchen items! Our kitchen now has a new blender, slow cooker, spice rack and bread maker! It's like Christmas every day!
