The Long Table – Friday Night Market | Pie For Brains
https://pieforbrains.wordpress.com/2011/12/15/the-long-table-friday-night-market
Breakfast at the Hawksmoor. The Three Wise Panettone →. December 15, 2011 · 11:25 am. The Long Table – Friday Night Market. Reading Tweets from the queue on the opening night was how I first heard about the Long Table. I was sat in Lahore Kebabhouse, a much warmer environment from which to ogle at the bizarreness of London’s food scene. We’re people really queuing up, in the cold, on a Friday night to get into a market? Fast forward a couple of weeks and the Missus. Cheeseburger which she offers to share...

Tinland: Day 21: The Long Table
http://tinland.blogspot.com/2011/12/day-21-long-table.html
Friday, December 16, 2011. Day 21: The Long Table. Have you ever had pig's head stew? Slow braised with brussel tops, mustard, pearl barley, and topped with pickled carrots and crunchy barley? Or a goat taco? How about shredded duck in creamy rice with chorizo? A lamb wrap with lovely greens? Or a really juicy, cheesy hamburger on a soft bun with a side of dill pickles? Grilled pork belly with cucumber in a pillowy soft man-tou? How about all of these in the same evening? My favourite part of the evening:.

While I can't believe it's already been a month, I sorely demonstrated how I'm still quite a newbie to this city. My mistake? Visiting Oxford Circus in the middle of the afternoon. Wow How naive I was to think it'd be fun to see the crowds! It was a pleasure coming home to a cup of tea, big bowl of homecooked food, and the promise that I'd never, ever do that again. Friday, December 23, 2011. Yesterday, w...

Street food gets on the march… | The Food Gazette
https://thefoodgazette.wordpress.com/2012/03/21/street-gets-on-the-march
Policy on a plate. Street food gets on the march…. THE street food revolution arrives in Dalston. The queue for the queues spins back 200 metres or so onto a dark, rainy Kingsland Road beside the burst water main and the (empty) McDonalds. Was this the night that London putative street food revolution finally took to the streets? Once inside, there were more queues for each stall and a bunfight to grab a space under the tent with candles. The Gazette was there. Where were you? Tags: Dalston street food.
