The Ludwig's Food. Here's our food, here's our life. November 25, 2013. Ancho Flavored Crispy Shallots. Preheat the canola oil and butter over medium heat over your smallest burner. Once the mixture is heated (the butter should be bubbling nicely), add in all the shallots. Toss them periodically until they start to brown, then continuously toss gently. Once they start to brown remove and dry on paper towel. Once cooled toss with the other ingredients and serve. 4 shallots, sliced thin and broken up.
