Homeowners have access to swimming, tennis, and a children's play area. There are walking paths throughout the community that lead to adjoining neighborhoods and Timberlawn Park.

The community was developed by the Poretsky Building Group, which at the time, was a well known and award winning Washington D.C. area builder. Construction started in 1987 and was completed in 1989. There are two models,. The Ascot and the Beech, which are pictured below. The Mains is part of the Penbrooke Association which also includes the Gables, Bentley Place, Luxberrry, and Timberlawn. These communities share the costs to maintain and operate the swimming pools, tennis courts and play area.

The Magic of Ordinary Days. Saturday, October 29, 2011. Happy Halloween.It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas. The boys had their Halloween Class Parties yesterday. Thomas wanted to be Harry Potter! Sean has been wanting to be a bunny for months now. He and Isaac love littlest pet shop toys, and they both want to work in a pet store one day! Note: We have no pets, and the kids have never had one that wasn't a bug they caught in the yard.). He is so adorable, and soooo happy in his bunny costume!

When Owen is happy, he is always to be found doing a little jig. Their Aunt Penny spoils them rotten with delicious after church snacks! Snacks definitely worthy of many happy jigs. YUM! Thomas laughed so hard when he found a taco shaped fortune cookie this week when Dad picked up chinese take out for dinner. What a handsome little man!
