The McPs

Friday, March 21, 2014. So long, farewell. Our last full day in Melbourne. Not so good weather forecasted so we got out to the ‘London Eye’ aka the Melbourne Star first. Having been told that this was the biggest observation wheel in the Southern Hemisphere, we now know that it is the only one in the Southern Hemisphere and there are only two others in the world. Had a nice ride – great views as you would expect and pleasant way to while away a half hour. A fitting end to a great week. We have had a love...

The McPs: March 2013

http://themcps.blogspot.com/2013_03_01_archive.html

Sunday, March 31, 2013. Leaving Toulouse.getting lost again. My goodness, the streets in Toulouse are nightmarishly skinny, especially whilst we are getting used to the new car. It is an Opel Meriva, manual and larger than we expected. I guess it was aimed at kids but we both thought it was brilliant. Masses of people but the crowds flowed through quite well so there was no queuing. Our accommodation itself deserves a separate post so will stop here. March 31, 2013. Saturday, March 30, 2013. The McPs: May 2008

http://themcps.blogspot.com/2008_05_01_archive.html

Thursday, May 29, 2008. We awoke to another glorious sunny day - it was nice not to have an alarm clock to wake us, but a 12 noon check out meant we could take our time. We headed up to the hotel’s roof top restaurant for breakfast. It was a bit posh, but what views! The bay went on for miles and it just added to the elegant ambience, so it was a wonderful start to our last day. A street seller tried to get our attention by calling out ‘Hey, newlyweds! 8217; - that was a bit of a giggle! May 29, 2008.

The McPs: August 2009

http://themcps.blogspot.com/2009_08_01_archive.html

Monday, August 31, 2009. Much refreshed after a good night’s sleep. The hotel is great – spacious and modern, with two bedrooms and two bathrooms – and views to die for (Not! Have a look at the pictures! Brilliant location also, so we’re happy with our choice. Also had a lovely walk along the river bank – it is a very pretty city, and the walk was very pleasant – until it rained again! August 31, 2009. Saturday - where we lose our duty-free. Luckily, I was allowed to keep my two bottles of perfume. It wa...

The McPs: April 2013

http://themcps.blogspot.com/2013_04_01_archive.html

Sunday, April 28, 2013. What did we see? South-westish France: castles, caves, cuisine, churches and medieval villages. Normandy: English/French history, from Joan of Arc to William the Conqueror to D-Day landings. Paris: museums and monuments. Singapore: family, who are also friends, in a completely different environment. Theme highlights in France? Most enjoyable experience not already reported? Enjoyment factor = (lovely church) * (kind old lady) * (successful conversation in French). April 28, 2013.

The McPs: No cyclones, just a Phoenix and some thunder

http://themcps.blogspot.com/2014/03/no-cyclones-just-phoenix-and-some.html

Saturday, March 15, 2014. No cyclones, just a Phoenix and some thunder. Missed the storms but it was still pretty bumpy at both ends of our journey. The Phoenix Football team were on our plane – they’re playing Melbourne Heart tomorrow. We’re slightly tempted to go and get tickets to support the local lads. Nice to be out of our cattle class seats and stretching the creaking joints. Early night tonight I think! March 15, 2014. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). So long, farewell. I am a committer | McQ's thoughts on things Eclipse

I am a committer. McQ's thoughts on things Eclipse. Last year, at about this time, I wrote a lengthy, omnibus post called Eclipse has a future. I’m going to talk about what it is about Eclipse 4 that makes it interesting and important, but first I wanted to say a bit about why we grew the tagline “Early Adopter Release”. An Early Adopter Release. Technology. It’s not like we went in and tweaked the implementation a bit; we actually. The workbench implementation and started again. For the last month or so...

Monday, September 3, 2012. My Five Year Plan. I should be able to overcome the things that hold me back. I realize that the expectations are entirely my own, but I don't think they're unreasonable. So every misstep starts to feel like a failure of character. It becomes a heavy burden to bear (again, one that is entirely imposed by my own expectations). That means I have to simultaneously forgive/not be so hard on myself/have FUN! So I'm super excited about (deathly afraid of screwing up! You can also use...
