the Meat Life

Sunday, January 2, 2011. New Year, New Beginnings. The Meat Life is now moving to Tumblr. Works better for me. I'll still check who I follow on here periodically. Thursday, December 30, 2010. End of 2010 Review – Television. I’ll give you my ten fave shows of the year, but first a look back at one classic show that came to an end in. I actually came across the show by accident. My sister asked for the first season on DVD for Christmas of 2005. Now I had never watched the show at all. Gave me what I wanted.

the Meat Life: December 2008

http://themeatlife.blogspot.com/2008_12_01_archive.html

Sunday, December 14, 2008. Alright, well we've come to the end of the regular season and the break before the bowl season starts. A good way to review the season is to look back at my predictions from before the season began and see how I did. I called my season preview. The Meatrodomus Five Fortune-Telling Truths of the 2008 Season. We'll see how good of fortune I will have. 1 OU will win its third Big 12 Championship in a row. 2 The Heisman Trophy will not go to a sophomore again this year. It was clos...

the Meat Life: March 2009

http://themeatlife.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html

Tuesday, March 10, 2009. It is 2009 now! Crazy, this decade is almost over. In the last ten years I've experience finishing both high school and undergrad, we've had two wars, 9/11, Web2.0, recession, and a black man elected president. So much has changed, and so much remains the same. In honor of closing out the decade, there will be a section called. Music picks of this decade from the Meat Life. This entry will focus on more party hits. Fabolous's "Young'n (Holla Back)" (2001). This I like more than t...

Tuesday, October 12, 2010. 15 Albums That Impacted My Life. I’m going to take a break from the college football blogging for a week, so next week look out for my must sees as well as a midway point review or as I will call it: the Meat Life Halftime College Football Awards. Haha yeah in know, prestigious. So during the break, here is some music. So here are the albums I picked for my 15:. Boyz II Men – II. Weezer – Weezer. The Blue Album) 1994. No Doubt – Tragic Kingdom. Bush – Razorblade Suitcase. The a...

the Meat Life: April 2009

http://themeatlife.blogspot.com/2009_04_01_archive.html

Tuesday, April 28, 2009. I Want a New Phone - Volume III: the Apple iPhone. So after a long search, I settled on the Apple iPhone. It met most of my reqs for a phone and in my opinion has probably the best user experience. I am still debating whether to wait for iPhone 3.0 OS to come out in June or to jailbreak, so this review is on the iPhone 3G not jailbroken. And then I had some specifics that I wanted in a phone: compact size, sleek design, and cool factor. Saturday, April 18, 2009. So, just for kick...

SoonerZoom: May 2008

http://soonerzoom.blogspot.com/2008_05_01_archive.html

Saturday, May 31, 2008. Branson Landing is a pretty nice place. We stayed at the Hilton there, which is also quite nice. The hotel is connected to the strip and made going from the room to "the shop" pretty easy. Here is the front of RZ during the Sneak Peek on Friday. The "ZEO" Larry cuts the chain to the new store on Saturday. Open for business. Big Foot the monster truck, complete with RZ flag on the back, crushes a row of old cars as part of the weekend's festivities. Needless to say, it was loud.

Wednesday, January 30, 2008. MM9 Clinton on Campus.jpg. Today was an interesting shooting day. President Bill Clinton came to campus to talk up Hillary for the upcoming primary (Super Tuesday). The event was open to the public, and as a result a line of people stretched from the field house all the way to Elm Street. One other fact to consider with fluorescent tungsten is that they have "cycles" where they give off a full charge and go down to less than a full charge. You know when you can hear the l...

Wednesday, June 25, 2008. Workin' for the Weekend. Saturday, June 21, 2008. After work, I studied my last little bit of microecon and took the test. 50 questions, hour and a half time limit. It took me 28 minutes to complete and I felt pretty confident that I knew the material. Unfortunately I got an 84. Oh well, what can I do now. Still really good compared to my macroecon experiences at OU. Ok, with work done and the test over with, I had some free time. Hooray! What was my plan? St Louis as seen from ...

SoonerZoom: July 2009

Thursday, July 02, 2009. What is up with Blogger always uploading pictures in a weird order? Oh well, here are some pictures from my somewhat limited adventures considering how long I've been here. Stuffed wolf posed as an ominous predator at the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History. An obscene sculpture at the national sculpture exhibit. Half pizza cutter half runaway shopping cart wheel? I look at the Hall of Statues in the Capitol building. It was rather nice. The Capitol rotunda. How very rotund.

Sunday, July 27, 2008. I Want to Go Home. Saturday, July 26, 2008. Shooting on a Free Weekend. I finally don't have school work to have to do on the weekend. I've just been chillin and taking a few pics here and there. I convinced Ben I needed to practice on my portraiture before the start of the semester in order to stay sharp. It was nearing sunset, so we went across the way to an empty parking garage to shoot. Here's what we came up with in the newfound free time:. From above. Nikon D300, 200mm, 1...

Friday, June 26, 2009. After what seemed like about five to ten minutes, I am leaving the Sports desk and going to the A section on Monday. I've come to enjoy the work I've done at Sports. I got to do the section front four or five times and got used to the workflow. I hope the A section isn't too much different, although it is a hell of a lot larger. I also got paid today. Taxes sure take a large bite out. So was this portrait of President Obama. They prints were huge! Tuesday, June 16, 2009. On that no...

Monday, March 31, 2008. Well, last week was a really busy week as far as shooting goes. I shot five or so different assignments, ranging from a flight in one of OU Aviation's airplaces to a photo illustration about being gay on campus. We had a big deadline last Friday, so everything was shot as quickly as possible. Anyway, I'm too lazy to get into too much detail with everything, so here are some of my wedding photos. Friday, February 29, 2008. Campaign Born Out of Boredom. Somehow during the week, I found the time to create a demo for a dummy campaign advertising OU Student Media's annual "Job Ready" sessions. The Job Ready series includes mock interviews with professionals and a sweet portfolio contest. I won best design portfolio last year. big achievement, I know. Thursday, February 28, 2008. Here are a couple of shots from last night's Body Image shoot. I won't post the assignment itself since it's a bit touc...

themeatlessdiva | eating meatless while trying to look a little less meatless

Eating meatless while trying to look a little less meatless. 8220;The Bo”. It’s so easy …. So tonight for dinner I made this incredibly creamy almost cheesy like “cream” of broccoli soup. Cool thing is, there is no cream and there is no cheese. Actually there isn’t a lick of non-dairy items at all in this soup. No tofu stuff. Nothing. It also was perfect on this crazy cold and snowy day today. 8 russet potatoes – peeled and diced. 1 large vidalia onion diced. 1/3 c Rolled oats (not instant). I pureed thi...
