https://czechfootballblog.wordpress.com/the-regionals/tj-buchlovice
A Czech football blog. The first in my regional series and we’re heading way, way down into the depths of non-league Czech football. Buchlovice (pronounced similar to. Luv-itsa) is a small town near the Slovak border in the glorious wine making region of Moravia with a population close to 2,500. There’s a popular chateaux in the town which houses a number of peacocks, hence the club’s crest. Play in the 9th tier of Czech football (see comments below – thanks Jay! One response to “ TJ Buchlovice. Their gr...

A Czech football blog. Newer posts →. February 28, 2011. Jablonec stole the Czech football headlines at the weekend with an emphatic 3-0 derby victory over former 2005/6 champions and north Bohemian rivals Liberec. Czech international David Lafata was the hero as he bagged himself a hattrick, keeping Jablonec’s faint championship hopes alive. League leaders Plzen recorded a home win over Hradec Králové, while Sparta kept pace away at Ostrava. Left foot; right foot; header. February 24, 2011. I should adm...

Czech League Pyramid | HEZKÝ
https://czechfootballblog.wordpress.com/history/clubs
A Czech football blog. As depicted in my absurdly rectangular league pyramid, the Gambrinus Liga is Czech football’s elite division, housing the best 16 teams the Czech lands have to offer including the traditional big guns of Sparta and Slavia Prague, Baník Ostrava and so forth. Druhá Liga (literally ‘second league’) is also a fully professional division represented by teams nationwide. As with the Gambrinus Liga, two teams are relegated and promoted from the second tier each season. Beneath this there ...

A Czech football blog. Gambrinus League Title Is Plzeň’s To Lose. Gambrinus Liga 2011/12 →. Cup tie abandoned after Slavia Praha violence. May 6, 2011. The Czech FA have not yet granted Slavia a license for the Gambrinus Liga next season as a result of their ugly balance sheet. The prospect of being ignominiously dumped in the 3rd tier next season was seemingly too much for the unruly assemblage yesterday, who underlined their displeasure by breaking stuff and loitering on the field of play. Football in ...

Sparta Praha | HEZKÝ

A Czech football blog. Letná – 20,854. Prague (pop. 1,200,000). One of the purposes of this here blog is to introduce Czech football and its clubs with the tricky looking names to English-speaking snoops. Sparta Praha needs no such platform. Boasting the country’s largest trophy cabinet, and the most fans, Sparta is Top Dog in Czech football. Sparta detractors portray the club as supercilious and arrogant and my experience of Spartans at home matches at Letná corresponds directly with this reputation....
