Corruptible Things: Pomo
http://corruptiblethings.blogspot.com/2010/10/pomo.html
Monday, October 25, 2010. Lately I've been trying out this productivity technique called The Pomodoro Technique. The basic idea is that you write down a task to work toward, work hard for 25 minutes, and then rest for 5 minutes- repeating until the task is complete. Since most of my time is spent in front of a computer, I looked for a timer that would show me the 25-minute clock counting down. I didn't find exactly what I was looking for, so I decided to write my own as my first open source project.

Corruptible Things: Just Another Cat
http://corruptiblethings.blogspot.com/2008/11/just-another-cat.html
Thursday, November 6, 2008. I'm not endorsing these Canadian "new democrats" (whoever they are), but I thought the cartoon was. timely. A very good analogy of human nature. We do seem to be very adept at going in circles! I recall a statement by a preacher on one occasion in which he said:"The only thing man ever learns from history is that he never learns anything from history." I think that pretty well sums it up. Corruptible Things: A Bittersweet Day
http://corruptiblethings.blogspot.com/2008/11/bittersweet-day.html
Tuesday, November 4, 2008. I am now leaving the house to go vote for Chuck Baldwin (for President), Chris Baker (for US House), and Daniel Towers Lewis (for Senate). The mere fact that none of these men is likely to be elected is a sad thing. Why? Because all three of the men who will. And yet we reelect them. and even promote them to the highest office in the nation. We are content with a "choice" between a reluctantly socialist warmonger and a reluctantly warmongering socialist. But I keep running back...

Corruptible Things: This is NOT Where Our Faith and Hope Are
http://corruptiblethings.blogspot.com/2008/10/this-is-not-where-our-faith-and-hope.html
Saturday, October 25, 2008. This is NOT Where Our Faith and Hope Are. E should be good stewards of all blessings God has given, but e. Ven the most enduring things of this world will pass away. My intention here will be to discuss these temporal things like silver and gold, hay and stubble;. But with the acknowledgment that as helpful and practical as even the best of these worldly things may be for now, they are not. Eternal. As Rich Mullins put it, ". From First Peter, chapter 1). Since you have purifi...

Corruptible Things: August 2011
http://corruptiblethings.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html
Thursday, August 18, 2011. A System That Works. Months ago I had a discussion with a very good friend about economics and government. That in itself was a surprise, as he rarely cares to comment on the subject; He spends most of his study time on in. I'm fine with capitalism, but the problem is sin. The reason all [political/economic] systems fail is sin. Any system would work if it wasn't for sin- even socialism.". Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. A System That Works.

Corruptible Things: This is Not Where Our Faith Should Be
http://corruptiblethings.blogspot.com/2010/08/this-is-not-where-our-faith-should-be.html
Wednesday, August 25, 2010. This is Not Where Our Faith Should Be. For decades, Americans have subscribed to a monetary system which is openly and unashamedly referred to as a "fiat" money system. Have you ever wondered what "fiat" means? Here are the definitions (from m-w.com):. A command or act of will that creates something without or as if without further effort. An authoritative determination : dictate. An authoritative or arbitrary order : decree. And my heart hath been secretly enticed, or my mout...

Corruptible Things: The Rocks and Stones Will Cry Out
http://corruptiblethings.blogspot.com/2008/11/rocks-and-stones-will-cry-out.html
Friday, November 7, 2008. The Rocks and Stones Will Cry Out. In a previous post. I questioned why the "spot" prices of gold are so low. From what I understand, it is rare in the post-gold-standard period for the stock market and gold to fall in unison for any significant amount of time. In that post, I had even wondered whether the gold market (spot) prices were being artificially manipulated. Last night I happened upon a May 2007 article. By Hugo Salinas Price. Valuable, God-given money. Ownership of wo...

Corruptible Things: Why Gold and Silver Prices are So Low (and why there's none available)
http://corruptiblethings.blogspot.com/2008/10/why-gold-and-silver-prices-are-so-low.html
Monday, October 27, 2008. Why Gold and Silver Prices are So Low (and why there's none available). I found this article. Today by Alfred Adask. I don't know anything about the guy, but he. Is offering the only reasonable explanation I've heard so far for the currently low gold and silver prices. In short, what he says is this:. The market ("spot") prices are not set by actual metals sales, but by futures sales- which is much different. Are not available at the low spot prices, but they are.
