Madeleine Smiles: My first hair cut!
http://madeleinesmiles.blogspot.com/2012/02/my-first-hair-cut.html
Monday, February 20, 2012. My first hair cut! I got my first hair cut today! Yes, it's taken me 5 and a half years for my hair to reach the middle of my back, but it was getting scraggly and uneven, and so it was time for a trim! We went to a nearby hair salon for kids. The photo above is me waiting my turn for my haircut. Here I am in the airplane chair, just before the cut:. Emma had to check out what was going on! It was fun- I told mommy that I want another haircut tomorrow! Getting Pumped Check In.

I thought I knew pretty well every technique there is in photography . bleach bypass, solarization, lomography, cross processing, HDR . I've just stumbled across 'redscale' photography (also known as 'redbird', apparently). This is a technique used in film cameras, where the film is exposed the wrong way around. In other words, it is used inside out. In redscale photography the film is reversed - a bit of a complicated procedure. The result is . Why on earth would anyone want to do this? Reversing the fi...

The PhotoZone: Moving day
http://alscotts.blogspot.com/2010/04/moving-day.html
The PhotoZone here on Blogger is going into hibernation - permanently. It won't vanish. I can't find any way of making it do that. But I will be posting no more here. The posts I have made will continue to hang about in cyberspace until Google gets fed up with them and erases the lot. But, don't despair. PhotoZone still lives. I am moving the blog to a new and more sophisticated web server. PhotoZone has had a complete facelift and is now up and running at:. Http:/ www.alscotts.com. Tweeting on the side.

Great Photographs No. 2 – Fallen Republican Soldier, Spain, 1936. 8220; If your pictures aren't good enough, you're not close enough. The truth of Robert Capa’s famous quote is borne out by his equally famous photograph. Capa was almost at the feet of this Republican soldier as the man fell during the Spanish Civil War. It is one of the most dramatic and iconic of all war photographs. But this photograph has stirred a storm of controversy. It was first published in a French magazine Vu. Then in 1975 Phil...

Okay so this has nothing whatsoever to do with photography, other than the fact that a video camera was used to make it. But as a Border Collie fan - and owner of this blog - I'm gonna pull rank. Ladies and Gentlemen, the Baa-Studs present. They couldn't have done it without the dogs. The California Rare Fruit Growers Association (CRFG) is running a photographic competition for images of rare fruit. They call it their Fruit Shoot 2009. First prize is $100, and the total prize money is $375. Because on Ju...

DL Nelson is an American-born Swiss writer and journalist. Visit her website www.donnalanenelson.com. Sunday, August 02, 2015. Almost identical to the pen I bought in a WOCCU silent auction. My plume is deep green. I learned to print in first grade in Reading MA. Half way thru the year, I transferred to a private school in Bluefield WV. There I was expected to write cursive without mistakes on ink drops. Infractions brought a sharp hit on the wrist with all too-ready ruler. I write almost everything by c...

http://memoirsofageekygirl.blogspot.com/2010/09/banana-cream-pie-birthday.html
Memoirs of a Geeky Girl. A blog by a Canadian Mom living in Australia. About life and parenting. Friday, September 10, 2010. Banana Cream Pie Birthday. My Dad loved sweets. Much like my son Jack, who once told his Grandad that he "loved him more than candy." That was a lot. Banana cream pie - it covers all the food groups doesn't it? Fruit, dairy, protein, cereal - yes, yes, yes, and yes! Not that my Dad really cared - it tasted good and brought back memories of good times. I haven't made a banana cream ...

Writing Life: It is so good to be here...today
http://jawahara.blogspot.com/2012/10/it-is-so-good-to-be-heretoday.html
Where I come to write life. Thursday, October 18, 2012. It is so good to be here.today. I used concepts that can be encapsulated in numbers: four seasons (fall, winter, spring, summer), the elements (earth, wind, fire, water) as writing prompts. Starting from the broad and drilling down helps in narrowing down to yourself. After all, a journal is a safe, exclusive place where the only person important is you. How do you spell, Fall? Her voice, still soft, was audible at last. I didn't know when I first s...
