black chevrolet: October 2006
http://blackchevrolet.blogspot.com/2006_10_01_archive.html
Tuesday, October 31, 2006. I will welcome the rain, the cold, anything to wash down this convulsed atmosphere. Rain will melt the edges, slick the rough surfaces, calm the hurricane and maybe even bring my appetite back. Okay, that was random. Friday, October 27, 2006. I got me a lid. And so it begins. MSF course starts next Wednesday. Tuesday, October 17, 2006. Why does it seem like Nighthawk's only sleeping as they pull the sheet up over her clay wings? I still don't feel very intelligent.). I don't fe...

black chevrolet: CLOSED until further notice
http://blackchevrolet.blogspot.com/2010/01/closed-until-further-notice.html
Tuesday, January 19, 2010. CLOSED until further notice. I don't want this blog to become one of those zombie blogs that leave off at a post about an anticipated journey" a rough paraphrase of some wise words by Doug Klassen, whose blog just entered the Death Scroll which has become my collection of links to other people's blogs. Nobody's really writing any more. Not even Toque, who, poet that he is, could be depended upon to contribute something at least every other month. CLOSED until further notice.

black chevrolet: February 2007
http://blackchevrolet.blogspot.com/2007_02_01_archive.html
Thursday, February 22, 2007. I was speaking to a graduate of Notre Dame Architecture program last night and he claimed that "architecture is an art, not a science". I think he might be right. The principles upon which the "science" of architecture are based are inherently practical. Will it stand up? How much will it cost? How long will it last? How will it fit my lifestyle? What kind of Place for Me will it be? All the rules of proportion are aimed to fulfill the answers to these questions. I'm going to...

black chevrolet: June 2007
http://blackchevrolet.blogspot.com/2007_06_01_archive.html
Friday, June 29, 2007. Motorcycle touring freaking rocks. Ok, now that I've got that off my chest. It was a 2.5 day whirlwind to Kansas City on a new bike that was being broken-in on the way. I stopped in Flagstaff to get the oil changed at the prescribed 600 miles, and from there on it was hold the fist back. Below 5000 rpm till I got over 1000 miles. Which meant 50 mph on the freeway and probably curses from the truckers. (66 mpg though.). Friday, June 22, 2007. I left the dealership Tuesday afternoon ...

Wednesday, January 31, 2007. Grumble* Motorcycles are supposed to cost LESS than cars in maintenance, not more. *grumble*. In the process of arranging for sprocket and chain replacement. There goes all my dreams of a fun semester off-campus spending money. Why, oh for crying out loud why did I not catch this before I bought the bike in November? Because I was in a hurry). Tuesday, January 30, 2007. Do I really want to go to architecture school? Do I want to go to theology class this afternoon? Suzi blew ...

black chevrolet: For Ariel
http://blackchevrolet.blogspot.com/2009/08/for-ariel.html
Wednesday, August 19, 2009. The traffic is stuck. Red curls in the window. A patient green stare. We live on the freeways. In the salt of the sea. She stands in the sand. Wind tumbling her hair. A rose in one hand. Casting petals to the air. There is no end. To the ocean's flow. Nothing but the bend. Of the beach house row. And a year later, he married her. Saturday, March 31, 2007. Suzi was undamaged except cosmetically. A long strip of road-rash on the right pipe, and a slightly abraded crankcase cover. No levers, fins or anything else was bent or broken. I was lucky. The Air Force Thunderbirds are flying out at Point Mugu this afternoon; I'm going to try and make the show after Linux class (if there is Linux class). Friday, March 30, 2007. I don't have time right now to tell the rest of the story. Tuesday, March 27, 2007. Saturday, March 24, 2007. 25-yea...

black chevrolet: August 2006
http://blackchevrolet.blogspot.com/2006_08_01_archive.html
Friday, August 18, 2006. Providence is kind. I will be able to buy books this semester. I was hoping that I wouldn't have to get my boots all full of granite binder again today. I need to oil them, and they can't be oiled when they're dusty like that. If I want to oil them, I'll have to wash them first. But I'm too lazy to do that at the moment, so I'll neglect it another day. Thursday, August 17, 2006. I have nothing to say, nothing that will not be impatient, angry, selfish and uncharitable. In my life...
