Go Team Lindsey: June 2011
http://goteamlindsey.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html
My attempt at bending the corner of the page- marking the ragged, beautiful, simple, and extraordinary moments passing far too quickly. So here's our story. Wednesday, June 29, 2011. Some are tired and overworked. Some are colorful. Some are useful, while others break down quickly. They may be simple or complex, old or new, scientific or artistic. They are part of our uniquely developed human mind, and sooner or later, we all enlist them to communicate what we otherwise could not. It takes practice and s...

My attempt at bending the corner of the page- marking the ragged, beautiful, simple, and extraordinary moments passing far too quickly. So here's our story. Wednesday, June 6, 2012. More About Growing Things. Many times, I only remember to water when things when I notice they are wilt-y. It keeps things alive, but they never thrive. I wish that were only true of plants. Things need water to stay alive, to grow, to flourish. I want my life to be one of flourishing, not just staying alive. Ground of My Own.

Glorious Mud: Psalm 15
http://stevemizel.blogspot.com/2015/05/psalm-15.html
A man made of mud learning to live as an image bearer of God. Thursday, May 28, 2015. O Lord, who shall sojourn in your tent? Who shall dwell on your holy hill? He who walks blamelessly and does what is right. And speaks truth in his heart. Psalm 15 is an interesting contrast to Psalm 14. It goes from "There is none who does good, not even one" to "Who gets to live in God's house? Thank God, though, that Jesus is everything this Psalm tells me I have to be. He who does these things shall never be moved&#...

Glorious Mud: Milestones Ministry Discipline Forum Audio
http://stevemizel.blogspot.com/2008/06/milestones-ministry-discipline-forum.html
A man made of mud learning to live as an image bearer of God. Saturday, June 7, 2008. Milestones Ministry Discipline Forum Audio. In 2007, I taught a parenting forum at The Journey. I posted the audio for that forum here, but The Journey has since cleaned up their media archives and this forum was taken down. For some reason, though, this blog entry continues to be one of the most popular on my site. The gospel tells us that we are both more broken and sinful than we care to imagine, and that we are also...

A man made of mud learning to live as an image bearer of God. Tuesday, June 16, 2015. Hit a busy stretch with a leadership retreat. Stayed in the Psalms, but stopped blogging. I am going to try to post a blog each day this week, but will take another break when I go on vacation at the end of the month. I know all three of you who read these really need to know this information. The heavens declare the glory of God,. And the sky above proclaims his handiwork. Day to day pours out speech,. This is an aspec...

http://stevemizel.blogspot.com/2015/06/psalm-18.html
A man made of mud learning to live as an image bearer of God. Tuesday, June 16, 2015. Oops Thought I had already written about this Psalm. Guess I started and got distracted. I love you, O Lord, my strength. The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer,. My God, my rock, in whom I take refuge,. My shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. I call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised,. And I am saved from my enemies. I don't know. I don't care! Whew, take a breath]. David felt all ...

Glorious Mud: Psalm 14
http://stevemizel.blogspot.com/2015/05/psalm-14.html
A man made of mud learning to live as an image bearer of God. Wednesday, May 27, 2015. The fool says in his heart, "There is no God.". They are corrupt, they do abominable deeds,. There is none who do good. So, what did David mean? Probably something along the lines of: The fool says in his heart that there is no God in Israel. Israelites would have sung this Psalm, quietly rejoicing that they were not all those fools out there who believed all those silly gods. Wednesday, May 27, 2015. 25 Lessons for Yo...

Glorious Mud: 25 Lessons for Young Men from 25 Years of Marriage
http://stevemizel.blogspot.com/2014/08/25-lessons-for-young-men-from-25-years.html
A man made of mud learning to live as an image bearer of God. Monday, August 11, 2014. 25 Lessons for Young Men from 25 Years of Marriage. 1 Oneness is the point of marriage. It is the gift of God to us in the covenant of marriage (Genesis 2:24). It is the losing of "me" in "us" - learning to put your wife's needs and desires ahead of your own, not because you are honorable or self-disciplined, but because you love her so much that her happiness is your happiness. 5 Learn to celebrate well. Everyone love...
