Des de 1981 es va declarar com Santuari Històric, amb una superfície de 32.592 hectàrees que inclouen no només la part arqueològica sinó també la flora, la fauna i els seus paisatges, destacant l'abundant presència d'orquídies. El Machu Picchu va ser declarar Patrimoni de la Humanitat per la UNESCO el 1983. Benvinguts al meu bloc!
