A month ago I read an article in Mothering. Magazine about cloth diapers. I found myself sickened thinking of the sheer volume of plastic diapers I'd already tossed into the landfill thus far in my mothering career. Cloth diapers had always seemed too inconvenient and too stinky for me. But this article really opened my mind to the possibilities and also made me question why I was using these chemical-laden, expensive, wasteful disposables. And I am pleased to report that. We truly love cloth diapers!

Surprise proposal shoot at the lincoln memorial {part I}. What a magical day! This is Kourtnee. Everyone calls her Koko. Before serving a full time mission, she nannied for my remarkable friend Deidra who I adore, and quickly became part of the family. When Deidra came to me and explained the situation, I was beyond excited. {And even with serious burns on the fingers of my right hand- a whole 'nother story- I refused to miss out on this event! As you can see, Koko is a stunner. So, yeah, that helps.

Materials needed: felt, hair clips (you can find these at Sally Beauty Supply), good fabric scissors, glue gun. I also used a tape measure. Cut a strip of felt- 2 inches wide and 9 1/2 inches long. Fold the two sides to meet in the middle. Try to get it even. Use a thin strip of glue on each side to secure. Next, flip it around and play with the shape of the bow. Use your fingers to pinch the center. You can make the "dimple" part bend in or fluff out, depending on how you fold it. Create a whole rainbow!
