Happy Birthday, Sunshine! She amazes me. Daily. Today, we celebrated her. Casey helped her don her new roller blades. Eldest is tearing it up on the rip stix. Sunshine was having fun even when she hit the pavement. A little b-day dinner with a couple of friends. They weren't quite ready for the fire. I love their expressions! Mostly, we saw lots of these. Our chef was a lot of fun. They even brought her some ice cream. The waiter had a blast trying to stump them with riddles. I love these smiles!

We had to be at Fort Myer in Memorial Chapel by 3:30 Friday afternoon. Fort Myer is the Base connected on to Arlington National Cemetery. We parked at the chapel and decided to wonder around the cemetery. My nieces and nephew were interested in seeing the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. We then headed over to see Kennedy's Memorial. By this time we realized it was really hot and we were a long way from the gate we had to back to! Eventually we made it back. Sweaty, but we were there. Posted by Lori Motl.

Some of you know that my family got a little rebellious this year. We stayed home for Thanksgiving.alone. We said anyone who wanted to was welcome to come, but we needed some down time. Our lives have become a bit busier with my having this new job. So we stayed local. It's been a nice day. We cooked the full Thanksgiving bounty for the five of us. It's fun to be around them and feeling their energy. I thought about you when I was eating grandmother's chocolate pie recipe). It's a Beer Brined Turkey.
