Ben Stark Pottery: May 2009
http://starkspots.blogspot.com/2009_05_01_archive.html
Thursday, May 28, 2009. How long since I touched Clay? Can you get any cuter than this? Just look a those arms! If you don't know this blog is about pottery, that title is freakin' hilarious! I'm sad to say that this is really the first chance that I've had to sit down and get back to my blog. Still nothing to report on the pottery front. I did manage to pick up some clay last Saturday, but it's still in the boxes. Maybe this weekend, I'll get a chance to actually get a little muddy! I do truly love her,...

Ben Stark Pottery: February 2010
http://starkspots.blogspot.com/2010_02_01_archive.html
Sunday, February 28, 2010. MmmmmThe other white meat! Yesterday, I grilled a pork loin roast, and it was AWESOME! This was the first time that I successfully grilled something 'low and slow' (don't ask about the ribs I did a little while back) and I'm finally getting the hang of it. All that I used was a dry rub and seared it, then grilled it over indirect heat for about 2-1/2 hrs. Super juicy and it melted in the mouth! Leftovers for lunch today :). Genevieve got a little car (thanks aunt Addie! Of the ...

Tuesday, March 24, 2009. Lindsay and I have also been getting the nursery ready for Genevieve- we still have the window tint and curtains to hang and then we'll be done- I think. Oh yeah, did I tell y'all the official name- Genevieve Olivia Stark. Lindsay has another shower this weekend that my sisters are putting on for her, so hopefully we'll get some more of the things that we need. Just 7 weeks left! Friday, March 6, 2009. Fresh from the kiln. Check out these wonderful glaze crystals! Tomorrow I've g...

Sunday, September 27, 2009. Barrel Firing # (um, I forget). It's been a while since we last barrel-fired at Clayworks so I'm not sure if this was number 10 or number 11. It doesn't really matter. The important thing is the fellowship we share whenever we fire the barrel.and the results. In that. Order Good ol' "Model T" has been firing for us since July of 2008. He's definitely showing signs of wear and tear. (Aren't we all? But the boy still gets the job done. Was a busy place today. Here, John. Speakin...

http://starkspots.blogspot.com/2009_10_01_archive.html
Friday, October 30, 2009. Anything not bone dry was thrown today. I had a fantastic. I started throwing at 6:30 this morning after I got Lindsay and Genevieve off to their schools, and threw pots until 2:45 only stopping for lunch. Speaking of lunch- I got one of my favorite meals- Kyoto Express Hibachi Chicken (minus veggies). Awesome! Hopefully tomorrow stuff will be ready to be trimmed and handled. Thursday, October 29, 2009. Genevieve now knows how to read. Does your 6-month-old know how to read?

Ben Stark Pottery: January 2010
http://starkspots.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html
Thursday, January 28, 2010. I haven't got anything new to show from this week- been spending a lot of time working on the house to get it presentable for the big shindig this weekend! We had to reschedule the oyster roast for Sunday due to weather, and I know it's going to be a blast! I'm finally to the point where I don't need to take my good pain meds any more. It's nice to be able to eat somewhat normally again. I'm hoping to be totally back to normal in the next few days. Wednesday, January 20, 2010.

Ben Stark Pottery: April 2009
http://starkspots.blogspot.com/2009_04_01_archive.html
Friday, April 24, 2009. Ramblings of a tired new father. Well, our just over one year old computer decided to no longer have a working wireless card, so I'm on my old computer from college. How is this thing still working and our fancy smancy new computer on the fritz? What sucks is that I can't post any pictures (sorry Cameron) because it doesn't have a card reader built in and I don't really feel like looking for the cord to my camera. Anyways, Genevieve is doing wonderfully! I told you I was tired.

Claydog: November 2009
http://claydog-story.blogspot.com/2009_11_01_archive.html
Sunday, November 1, 2009. Barrel firings can be very fickle affairs. The barrel might get too hot or not hot enough. Humidity plays into the mix. And rain always complicates things. The wondrous thing about this kind of firing is that we can do it again. Any pieces that didn't capture the colour we hoped can be fired again. And fire again we shall. Saturday 11/07. All Hallows Eve 2009. Is there any better date to do a barrel firing at Clayworks? I'm looking for magic. I'll post pix of the results onc...

Claydog: Adios April
http://claydog-story.blogspot.com/2011/04/adios-april.html
Saturday, April 30, 2011. The past couple of days of the month have brought some good moments. I'm lucky to work in an area where there are a couple of ponds. April is a good time for geese -rearing. It's also a good time for mockingbird homebuilders. This fellow and his mate spent a week or so feathering the nest in a holly bush outside my office window. Perhaps the eggs will hatch over the weekend? To make it cave art. :) It's glazed and ready for the glaze firing. Another class project was to make a l...
