In The Life Of The Muigais. February 27, 2014. Diapers, HIV orphans, and Betty. As the cloth diaper project. Our Holidays in East Africa | The Muigais
https://themuigaisblog.wordpress.com/2015/01/06/our-holidays-in-east-africa
In The Life Of The Muigais. January 6, 2015. Our Holidays in East Africa. Although the holiday season is always the time of the year when I feel the most homesick, we had a really nice time celebrating the holidays this year in Uganda and Kenya. Our delicious Thanksgiving turkeys. So we kept the turkeys in our compound until Thanksgiving (and I learned that turkeys can fly, since on the first day they both flew over our fence and ended up in our neighbor’s yard! Nathan jamming on his “guitar”. I guess th...
Kijani cloth diapers – made in Uganda! | The Muigais
https://themuigaisblog.wordpress.com/2013/06/18/kijani-cloth-diapers-made-in-uganda
In The Life Of The Muigais. June 18, 2013. Kijani cloth diapers – made in Uganda! I did some research online and was amazed at the variety of modern cloth diapers, which looked not only easy to use but also much cuter and cheaper than disposables. So we used cloth diapers with Natalie, and we loved them – we literally saved thousands of dollars by using cloth, not to mention saving thousands of diapers from ending up in the landfills. I’ve settled on an all in two design where. Diaper will fit a newborn ...
Miriam looks towards a better future despite a devastating past | The Muigais

In The Life Of The Muigais. February 18, 2014. Miriam looks towards a better future despite a devastating past. A few years ago, MCC changed their education model from individual child sponsorship to community/project sponsorship. Instead of asking donors to sponsor an individual child, donors are able to sponsor an entire school or community. The hope is that the entire school community can benefit from this model, instead of just the individual children who receive sponsorship. Enter your comment here.

With the skills and experience he had gained from working with youth in his church in Colombia, he has been working with the Anglican Diocese in Hoima to prepare and run a three week Living with Shalom. We have really enjoyed getting to know him and having him as part of the MCC Uganda team, and we have a...

http://ep-knits.blogspot.com/2015/07/the-fifth-year.html
Once upon a time this was a knitting blog. Then I had kids. Tuesday, July 21, 2015. In honor of Gabe's birthday, here is a retrospective of his fifth year of life - 12 of my favorite photos from the past 12 months. At a retreat center in Sogamoso. Not sure what the persona was here but just too cute! Demonstrating a machine that makes hearts and love for the world. Sweet and affectionate boy! In Harrisonburg, VA. A craft project from school - recycling! At the Children's Museum in Harrisonburg. Life is a...
Phantzi Little Yarns: December 2013
http://ep-knits.blogspot.com/2013_12_01_archive.html
Once upon a time this was a knitting blog. Then I had kids. Thursday, December 19, 2013. Year in Review, more or less. I'd say that overall it's been a good year. A year full of learning. Not, sadly, a year full of blogging. I think I was just too busy. Highlights of 2013 for our family:. Kids starting preschool in February. And finishing their first year last Friday! Gabriel getting potty trained in April. My food revolution in May. Albania vacation in July. Valerie losing her first tooth in October.
Phantzi Little Yarns: March 2015
http://ep-knits.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Once upon a time this was a knitting blog. Then I had kids. Tuesday, March 31, 2015. Here are a set of photos that more closely match what I imagined Haiti would look like. View from our hotel balcony in Port au Prince. Our hotel was near the edge of the city and you could hear very little traffic noise here - mostly roosters, goats, voices, household noises like pots and pans and running water. My kids learning to dance! Beginning of a 3-hour hike up and then down the mountain. There were goats EVERYWHE...
Phantzi Little Yarns: December 2014
http://ep-knits.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
Once upon a time this was a knitting blog. Then I had kids. Monday, December 01, 2014. We are 30 days from the new year, and I think it's time to resurrect my blog. 30 days ago, we marked 2 years in Colombia with MCC. The time has gone so fast, and the kids have grown so much. Valerie finished her first year in "big kids' school." I am so proud of her for facing a lot of fears, and learning so very much! We acquired two guinea pigs. More stories coming soon. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Never did I imagine.
Phantzi Little Yarns: Outlet
http://ep-knits.blogspot.com/2015/07/outlet.html
Once upon a time this was a knitting blog. Then I had kids. Wednesday, July 15, 2015. I ended up unplugging for much more than a week - more like a month! It was fantastic. And hard to get back into the swing of regular e-mail reading etc. But we're back at the office now, although it's been quite quiet since a lot of people are at MWC Assembly. 10-year anniversary of Sembrandopaz in Sincelejo, Colombia. Feria de Huancaro in Cusco, Peru! My sister and nieces in background. View my complete profile. Never...
Phantzi Little Yarns: April 2014
http://ep-knits.blogspot.com/2014_04_01_archive.html
Once upon a time this was a knitting blog. Then I had kids. Friday, April 04, 2014. Well, as you can tell I've sort of given up on this blog a little bit. or you might say it has gone dormant. So consider this post something of a snore. We spent 10 days in Bolivia last month for regional leadership meetings, which was very fun - Terry's and my old stomping grounds, where we met in 1996! The kids were super-happy to get home and be re-united with all their toys, their own beds, and their routines. My grea...
Phantzi Little Yarns: Birthday photo
http://ep-knits.blogspot.com/2015/05/birthday-photo.html
Once upon a time this was a knitting blog. Then I had kids. Friday, May 29, 2015. Since I finally uploaded these photos off my camera, here's a picture of Valerie's birthday! We kept the same motif of happy face balloons and candles. Poor Gabriel was feeling so sick still. The big gift was the Lego set you can see on the floor. We also had fruit kebabs and lots of snacks. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). My greatest joy in life is teaching my children bilingual puns. View my complete profile. I don't ...
Phantzi Little Yarns: April 2015
http://ep-knits.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
Once upon a time this was a knitting blog. Then I had kids. Wednesday, April 29, 2015. I knit this sweater for our accountant's baby girl, born last October. I found the buttons at a going-out-of-business sale in Harrisonburg, which, while sad, also netted me some amazing deals. Silver lining. Terry joked that the three yarn shops that went out of business in H-burg in the last few years are due to my moving away. Maybe? Friday, April 24, 2015. I look at the author's photo and see my dad 45 years ago!

Friday, November 8, 2013. Blog redesign and moving to Wordpress! So my blog layout and design is pretty boring - last year when we were at orientation for our job here with MCC, they were printing prayer cards and needed our contact info including our blog address. We hadn't yet started the blog so I quickly signed up for blogger and came up with a very basic layout. Since that orientation (in June 2012! Well, that time has finally come! Tuesday, October 29, 2013. When we got our kitty over a year ago, w...

In The Life Of The Muigais. What has been going on and what is coming up…. What has been happening:. A lot of travel! Nathan riding on a boda boda at the playground in Kigali. Natalie having fun painting while Mom and Dad sit in meetings in Kigali. After the retreat we spent Christmas in Kenya with Muigai’s family.

Why is it so exhausting to be busy? Andy and Brady on the other hand did AMAZING! Brady finished 3rd (and got a bronze medal) in his age group, which was TEN and under! He was the youngest medal winner by at least two years. We are very proud. Posted by Ali and Andy. Wednesday, December 12, 2012. Be Bright Christmas Card. Steam c...
Tony and Lisa Muilenburg's Page
This year sure seems to by flying by fast. Our daughter Lindsey was born in May, and we have been learning how to be parents ever since. Lisa is a great mom, and I'm having a lot of fun being a dad. Right now I am working on my M.S. in electrical and computer engineering, and am doing web design on the side. I've learned how to use flash animation, and am building some fun sites.
