Singularity in fact all of my 3-D work was inspired by Ruth Borgenicht and David Licata whom I both met at SOFA Chicago. Especially Ruth’s work seems so impossible and yet is executed so masterfully! Moveable ceramics: a contradiction in terms. I could see that my spiderweb was related to her work (and to David’s) and for the first time I felt that I’d like to try and give my ‘fabric’ a third dimension.

When I started out I used imagery for texture and to fill abstract shapes. Its neck had tucked back, its legs went up when the wings totally opened up, it transformed into an incredible air born creature. Its wing span was over 6.5’.

Close an eye and bring a heart to nothing slowly, heart is purified and a further one is found , I think this is a jaoanese traditional, buddhism philosophy. And, it’s full of vital energies.
