Pregnancy, baby and beyond! Saturday, July 30, 2011. I am oh-so-grateful that this pregnancy has been nothing like my first pregnancy. I lost count of the times I lost my lunch (breakfast, dinner.). Here is a long list of tips that helped me (and my friends Melissa and Melissa, who had an even harder time during their pregnancies) tame nausea/morning sickness:. Eat smaller meals, more often, especially right before bed, immediately in the morning. Don't get too full, or too hungry. Vit B6 with Unisom.

the mustachioed ladybug: November 2010

http://www.themustachioedladybug.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html

Pregnancy, baby and beyond! Thursday, November 18, 2010. I don't know what I would do without my babywearing gear! Especially during those first few months when my darling daughter would only take long naps when I was holding her. My favorite is the Baby K'Tan. It's really comfortable, affordable ($45 and up), washable and easy to throw on (I could even put it on and put my daughter in it without putting her down). It's like the Moby, but without the complicated twists, ties, and adjustments.

Pregnancy, baby and beyond! Tuesday, June 29, 2010. Muslin blankets from Koala Kuddles. Or Aden and Anais. They make swaddling easier, are perfect for warmer climates or layering, are small enough to keep in the diaper bag, but are big enough to spread out and use when you need it. If your little one is like mine and escaped out of swaddles because she preferred her arms by her face, here's how to modify. From Aden and Anais are nice to have (I purchased mine as a GaGa deal. Garcia Family Rundowns: Private Parts

http://garciafamilyrundowns.blogspot.com/2010/10/private-parts.html

Friday, October 29, 2010. OK, this post is totally inspired by a recent conversation with a co-worker and I thought it might be funny to get a little feedback. I guess we will find out how many (or few) people read this and/or care. Surely most of us remember the spin on the Oscar Mayer bologna song "my bologna has a first name its O-S-C-A-R." I guess there are lots of foods that resemble the male anatomy because I have heard it referred to as macaroni, Lil smokies, polish sausage, pickles, and ma. Sweet...

The blog of a highly-nostalgic, often-neurotic, somewhat-young writer in Austin, TX. My roommate has been writing a lot. Jeff and I first connected through Ultimate, when I guilted him into helping me coach the team at the middle school where we were both English teachers. We became friends when we decided to critique each others’ writing. We grew closer still when we went through simultaneous divorces, and our friendship was fully realized by a serendipitous lease in Austin’s Zilker neighborhood. Someti...

Sunday, November 14, 2010. The Third Trimester - Preparing for Baby. I am now in the beginning of the last trimester of my pregnancy (I'm 28.3 in the picture)! I know I am going to miss feeling my little friend moving around in my belly. This morning Gabe and I watched my belly protrude as the baby pushed out his or her back and bum. It's amazing that we are only separated by a few layers of skin and muscle. November 14, 2010 at 8:45 PM. My essential newborn things would be boobs (check! What school does...

Wednesday, October 20, 2010. Looking pregnant - 24.6 weeks. The baby is moving every day, especially after I eat. I have Braxton-Hicks contractions almost every day too. who's that girl with the mustache?

Who's that girl with the mustache? Wednesday, September 16, 2009. Do you like being different? As I should have anticipated, school is busier than I anticipated. I’ve been mustache-less for many days. But last week I went to the contra dance, not to dance but to play in the band, and I put the mustache on. The pick-up band brings folk who don’t come to the other dances, so they hadn’t seen it yet. 8221; (To which I replied, simply, “No.”). 8220;Are you trying to make a statement? I don’t frequently...
