The NanoReef Thingy: Day 10

http://www.thenanoreefthingy.blogspot.com/2006/01/day-10.html

One idot writing stuff about nano reefs. Monday, January 09, 2006. Bluie is all over the tank but old Red is very shy. He is not moving around but he is moving legs and claws a little so I think he's okay. I was trying out my cold cathode tube as a moonlight and dropped the inverter in the water. Funny smell of electrical burning. I think it is no more . damn! PH=- , Am=0.25, NO2 0, NO3 0]. Picked up a Blue Legged Hermit Crab and a Red Legged Hermit Crab from Kidsgrove Tropicals. Picked up a Red Sea.

http://www.thenanoreefthingy.blogspot.com/2006/01/day-19.html

One idot writing stuff about nano reefs. Wednesday, January 18, 2006. Spotted a worm in the sand today, can't tell what it is yet. My Red Leg Hermit has now become active after being fairly immobile on introduction. I'm keeping a list of my current tank inhabitants over on the left. Temp=27C/80F, SG=1.023, pH=-.-, kH=12.5, Alk=4.46, NH3=0.125, NO2 0, NO3 0]. I will go to testing my tank weekly. I plan to do this the day after my water change. (Maybe I should do it the day before too? Day 14, Day 13.

The NanoReef Thingy: Day 4

http://www.thenanoreefthingy.blogspot.com/2006/01/day-4.html

One idot writing stuff about nano reefs. Tuesday, January 03, 2006. A few polyps are coming and going. Here is the biggest one. Brown algae starting to form. Considering I have used live sand and live rock my tank seems to be showing signs of cycling already, although the amonia hasn't dropped remarkably yet (my test kit is a bit poor though). PH=75, Am=1.2, NO2=0.1, NO3=10]. Spotted some kind of dark-brown worm in the sand. PH=75, Am=1.2, NO2=0.8, NO3=50]. Posted by Matt Cook at 4:02 PM.

Triops Thingy: September 2005

http://triopsthingy.blogspot.com/2005_09_01_archive.html

This site is dedicated to telling you all about my experiences with Triops and to provide links to other useful sites. Friday, September 30, 2005. For my own amusements I've decided to produce my own blog about my Triops. You may have seen them in the shops and wondered what they are? These are a fascinating little creatures which are actually a shrimp, often called 'Tadpole Shrimps'. Posted by Matt Cook at 5:12 AM. View my complete profile. The Matt Cook Web Thingy. The Matt Cook Blog Thingy. Thursday, January 12, 2006. Posted by Matt Cook at 10:06 am. Wednesday, January 04, 2006. I'm a bit concerned that my dwarf puffer is on its own and I haven't pain too much attention to it's habitat. While surfing the net today I can across a neat site dedicated to Dwarf Puffers. They have a forum so I think I'll join up an get the little critter sorted out. Posted by Matt Cook at 4:35 pm. Posted by Matt Cook at 9:04 am. The Matt Cook Web Thingy. View my complete profile.

The Matt Cook Blog Thingy: September 2005

http://themattcookblogthingy.blogspot.com/2005_09_01_archive.html

The Matt Cook Blog Thingy. Monday, September 26, 2005. Gill bought me a starter kit for growing Triops. These are a kind of shrimp, nicknamed the 'Tadpole Shrimp'. They live in shallow ponds which, when dry, the eggs can live for many years until the water returns. We found them at 'The Natural World' store in Trentham Gardens but the kits are everywhere (Argos, B&M). I've started a dedicated blog to track their progress at http:/ triopsthingy.blogspot.com/. The Matt Cook Blog Thingy: October 2005

http://themattcookblogthingy.blogspot.com/2005_10_01_archive.html

The Matt Cook Blog Thingy. Monday, October 10, 2005. I've had these fish for about a month now. They have become problem fish! They were sold to me as 'Rocket Fish' and I was advised not to keep them with small fish. My smallest are some Neon Tetras and a few years old and equally as 'fat' at these fish. Then there were 2 less Neons. Then I caught one of my 'Rockets' with a Neon hanging out of its big beak-like mouth. My Rockets now inhabit their own nice new tank (which I was eyeing-up anyway). My New F...

The Matt Cook Blog Thingy. Tuesday, December 06, 2005. My New Fish Stand. I have built a tall stand capable of housing three 30 inch tanks. It's made from MDF and built to be STRONG! I'll post some pictures when I get the chance. I now have one tank in place, in which I am going to keep some Cichlids. I already have two (1) a silver and black striped one with a lovely yellow belly and (2) a blue checked one. I'll find out more about them and let you know. Posted by Matt Cook at 1:14 pm.
