the Nature of Portland

The Nature of Portland Store. Wednesday, August 21, 2013. Cascara Berries are for the Birds; Mine are for Cedar Waxwings. Hen I planted four Cascara Buckthorn. Trees in my yard several years ago, my yard didn't have much to offer the wildlife. So I couldn't wait for my new trees to mature enough to produce lots of berries, which would hopefully bring in lots of native birds during the summer months. Berries of the Cascara Buckthorn. Ecently though, I have seen Northern Flickers eating the berries. An...

the Nature of Portland: March 2012

http://thenatureofportland.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html

The Nature of Portland Store. Saturday, March 17, 2012. Squirrel Tactics 101: Raiding a Bird Feeder.
