The Nearest Future: 4th of July: Balloon Festival
http://thenearestfuture.blogspot.com/2015/07/4th-of-july-balloon-festival_10.html
4th of July: Balloon Festival. It was totally worth it :). There were around 12 hot air balloons spread out on the ground in a field behind Provo High School waiting to be inflated. People sat on blankets and camping chairs hanging out and waiting. Unfortunately it was too windy for the balloons to launch but the crews still inflated them to show them off to the crowd (and then deflated them). A crew squeezing the air out of a deflating balloon. And cracked us up. Including a "balloon glow" in the evenin...
The Nearest Future: Jewelry Boxes: Update 4
http://thenearestfuture.blogspot.com/2009/03/jewelry-boxesupdate-4.html
Jewelry Boxes: Update 4. Anyway, when we got to class I promptly realize that I left my plans at home. This, on top of the Great Soda Debacle of Aught Nine, was almost too much and I wasted a good 10 minutes fuming and pacing about in frustration. Then I calmed down and got to work on the box lids which I didn't need my plans for anyway. Then I glued the lids together. A lid in clamps being glued. Three sets of gluey lid goodness.
The Nearest Future: Spice Cabinet: Update 3
http://thenearestfuture.blogspot.com/2010/03/spice-cabinet-update-3.html
Spice Cabinet: Update 3. I made some good progress at woodworking last night. My friend Kristin is taking the class with me but she was sick so I was on my own. I finished cutting the dadoes into the sides of the cabinet for the shelves and the back of the cabinet. This is how the cabinet will fit together. It still needs to be glued. Sanded smooth the diamond panel for the door. Spice Cabinet updates 1 and 2 are here.
The Nearest Future: The Crib I Made
http://thenearestfuture.blogspot.com/2010/04/crib-i-made.html
The Crib I Made. The people who run the community education program where I take my woodworking class wanted students to submit photos of past projects to their website. I was going through my photos and realized I didn't have any of the crib I had made (it was from before I started this blog) so I ran upstairs with my camera to remedy the situation. Sorry I couldn't get a full shot of it- E's room is teeny and I couldn't back up any further.). Close up of the lacewood medallions.
The Nearest Future: Girl on Fire
http://thenearestfuture.blogspot.com/2015/07/girl-on-fire.html
Mimi was enthralled with sparklers and had a wonderful time this year on the fourth of July. We put out the fire and no one got hurt but I felt badly about it. I'm not sure what happened; I had set the firework on a flat spot. Overall it was a fun and exciting evening.

From the Heart: October 2009
http://muchtraveled.blogspot.com/2009_10_01_archive.html
Sunday, October 25, 2009. I love the rocks and rills. When we bought our home we were charmed to find that there was a stream flowing along the back edge of the property. We have been working for nearly 3 years to get the stream bank in good condition. It is a work in progress. The first year after we planted grass it looked like this:. The second year we planted wild flowers along the berm:. Our Quaking Aspen and River Birch trees are getting a good start:. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Come in and share ...

Friday, May 28, 2010. Meet me in the gazebo. I have always loved gazebos. They conjure up images of serenity and tranquility that only seem to exist in movies. The movie that comes to mind is The Sound of Music. And that famous scene with Leisl and Rolfe singing You are sixteen, going on seventeen. I never dreamed that I would ever own a gazebo, much less a waterfall! Now we have both, and the only thing lacking is the time to enjoy them! I keep talking about? There is still plenty of work to do. We ...

Amber's Fabulous Life in Salt Lake City. Just another WordPress.com weblog. The World’s Ugliest Apple Pie. Ruth Lewandowski (amazing) Wine. August 27, 2013. I recently came across a blog post. Evan responded immediately, and invited me to visit his winery for some vin tasting! The Ruth Lewandowski winery. From the Heart: Edward Scissorhands and Me!
http://muchtraveled.blogspot.com/2010/06/edward-scissorhand-and-me.html
Saturday, June 26, 2010. Edward Scissorhands and Me! I was out trimming some bushes yesterday and felt a bit like Edward Scissorhands. Pretty funny image. I like all the plants to have their own space, and when they start to crowd each other, I start chopping! We have been harvesting strawberries already and it is so fun to have a dish of our homegrown berries! Yes, it's true, we even hear the occasional rooster crowing, plus lots of cows mooing and horses neighing. It is delightful. Happy, Happy Family!
From the Heart: February 2010

Saturday, February 27, 2010. Well, it just keeps getting better and better around here! I think being grandparents is the best phase of life! Here is the playhouse Lee built for the kids. It fits under our new sunroom, so it will be protected from the sun and rain. The red curtains form a little puppet theater - not for use while the basketball hoop is in play! The front porch bench looks inviting. The grill is just the thing for preparing an imaginary BBQ. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Happy, Happy Family!

The Nearest Future – family, woodworking, photography, K-pop
Family, woodworking, photography, K-pop. It feels like things stretched out for almost a week this year. I helped with Mimi’s first Girl Scout Halloween party, we went to the party at N’s office, and I ran the snack station at E’s class party today. And of course we went trick-or-treating tonight 😉. E was a little ambivalent about picking his costume and went with Mimi’s suggestion of Robin from. The kids watch cartoons on Saturdays after their chores are done and. October 31, 2016. The Near Family Blog}. Thursday, February 27, 2014. It's been a (long) while. I thought I should post something. Since this space has been neglected for far too long so here's a nice photo dump for those who might still manage to look at this blog. All the way back in September). Halloween happened. The boys were Jedi's and I managed to make their costumes (and their trick-or-treat bags) from scratch. I don't know if I'd undertake this again- it was a lot. Christmas came and went in a blur. The Near Far Away. Life on Mars and other places . . . MANY CASTLES November 1986 – November 2016. November 5, 2016. The Near Far Away. This slideshow requires JavaScript. In 1984 we had a dream to own a property on Nantucket Island. After sharing a house in Tom Nevers with partners we set out on our own with the purchase of Many Castles, November 1986. On windy foggy days we swung Danny and Lisa Marie out and over the waves of shore breakers as we walked. Nancy and Peter Policastro. Backyard fun with Dad.
