Tots, Teen and Inbetweens. Wednesday, August 5, 2015. Is the state of being still, or not moving, … and I love this one-. Like a sitting puddle of water attracting mosquitoes. Why am I talking puddles of water and mosquitoes you may ask? This is the state I was in before I started working again – a still and stagnant puddle of water. Quite depressing isn’t it? But it is the truth. For 15 years I was a stay at home mom – a role that I loved with all my heart. I was never bored or lonely and was always busy.

Tots, Teen and Inbetweens. Tuesday, August 4, 2015. With 5 days to go, I am well and truly counting the days down till we leave for San Francisco on Sunday. How can I be so looking forward to a holiday when I am already on holiday? This was the question that went through my mind this morning. School is out (for me and the kids), we are all at home, no timetable, no homework, no extra mural activities - just us relaxing and unwinding at home. So, how can I be so desperate for a 'holiday'?

Jet lag definitely makes for some good family bonding - as we discovered at 12h00 midnight when the Tot sprang to life – eager to get going and explore the day. Unfortunately the four walls of our hotel room had to suffice until a more humane time. Teen 1 and Teen 2 trickled in from their room at 2am. Big mistake was not having any food to feed the hungry masses. I will stock up on some healthy snacks for tomorrow.

Tots, Teen and Inbetweens. Thursday, July 23, 2015. Quite a number of years later. The Tot is now 7, the Teen nearly 16 and the In-between is now infact a Teen. And me, well I am exactly a mid 40. Scary! After a long 'dry' phase I have decided to resurrect my blogging and start recording some of the memorable moments in our home. They may turn out to be more like middle age ramblings or as I suspect an opportunity to vent - something that is much needed when you have two teens in the house.
