The never setting sun. An adventure north of 60 degrees. This blog follows my 4 month adventure in Yellowknife. I’ve moved away from home for the first time, to a city where I know no one, with another summer job as a civil engineering student, and to experience a wild summer where the sun never sets! Without a doubt, the one thing that people told me I had to do while I was in Yellowknife was go to Folk on the Rocks. I have never been to a music festival, but a festival in the low key, easy going city of Yellowknife seemed like the perfect way to start! So basically I bought my tickets extremely early, without knowing anyone else who was going, but got a wicked deal! However they were all great! July 31, 2014.
