Allotment Adventures with Jean. Growing vegetables on one small allotment. A new growing season. By Allotment adventures with Jean. At last there will be something to write about happening over at the allotment now that we are starting our best veggie growing season here in Brisbane after a long hot summer. Nevertheless I found that some things revel in the heat despite my neglect. A big bunch every couple of days. I’ll be doing my own seed-saving so I can pass on the seeds. A visit to Green Harvest.

Monday, March 9, 2015. Oh dear, its been so long since I've posted I think I may have forgotten how to do it! I have only been able to manage small crochet/knit projects but better small than not at all I suppose. 10" square for my Australia Crochet Facebook group partner. Moss Stitch Fingerless Mitts (probably for me). Knit4Charity February donations for Rockhampton. Till next time . take care and I'll see you 'at your place'. March 10, 2015 at 4:00 AM. http://duchessdeclutter.blogspot.com/2015/01/i-want-to-see-it-painted-white.html
January 24, 2015. Grow Your Blog . I'm joining in with Two Bags Full - Grow Your Blog. So if you have jumped over from there - welcome! Just a little intro if you haven't been here before. I'm Wendy and welcome to my blog which I started as an incentive to clear out my clutter - hence the name duchess declutter. However, over time it has evolved a little. I blog about life on our little acreage in South East Queensland, Australia where it is hot and humid at the moment! I've just discovered Annie Sloan c...

April 19, 2015. Just hitting the pause button for a while . Oh that's right, the Pause button has been on for a while now. I've said on several occasions that I'm an erratic blogger. I think really I'm just a lazy blogger who loves to read and comment on other's blogs! I will be back soon. Some major ideas are bubbling away and hopefully next post will be enthusiatic. Summer 2015 has really drained me of ideas. Bring on some cooler mornings and nights and all will be well! Sunday, April 19, 2015. I have ...

duchess_declutter_wendy: Pumpkin post
http://duchessdeclutter.blogspot.com/2011/03/pumpkin-post.html
March 14, 2011. This is our latest batch of pumpkins. I thought that they were early this year, as I always seem to associate pumpkins with pumpkin soup and winter. However my husband informs me this is not the case. I must have a bad memory as apparently we have had more than one crop a year in the past. These little beauties are a nice size, one a little scarred on top (probably from the mower) but will be nicely shared amongst our neighbours on either side of us and ourselves. duchess_declutter_wendy: and then there were lots ......
http://duchessdeclutter.blogspot.com/2015/02/and-then-there-were-lots.html
February 2, 2015. And then there were lots . This is one jaboticaba. And a gathering of jaboticaba! If they are not picked promptly they end up on the ground. And they have a very different growth pattern. Not a good photo as it was taken after fruit had been picked. However I have noticed they are often referred to as the grape tree, and often spelt Jab u. We usually just eat jaboticaba raw, but I might investigate a few recipes. They are an unusual fruit with a tough skin and an a grape like texture.

June 27, 2014. June in focus - lots of orange and green. Our lovely orange trumpet vine has survived another year! Back here I mentioned the last of the winter vine for the second time. Another year has rolled around and it is turning into more of a monolith it seems! The tree it is covering is long dead if we remove the vine we (or he,. Dear husband) will have to remove the tree too. Cannot believe that it is July next week! Hopefully July will see the rewards coming through in our veggie garden too.

May 30, 2014. The Year in Books - May. This is actually a bit cheeky - sneaking in a post at the very end of May! As I'm joining in with The Year in Books. With Laura at Circle of Pine Trees, one of the books I've read is on the suggested reading list. This was Life After Life. Which many have read and recommended. So, also in keeping with the theme of The Year in Books, I'll just give my two bobs worth with regards to the book - as opposed to a review. Notice anything about the three books I've read?
