Nomad's Paradise

Sunday, July 26, 2015. When you are under fire, what do you do? This post has been sitting on my computer for two weeks now. And I apologize for such a late posting. But apologizing for lengths of time won't write about what I actually want to say. so onward to the depths of my thoughts. I'm not married, nor do I have kids, but I do have friends and I need to rest or else I'm going to get burned out. Do you care at all about our lives outside of work? Or that we never get rest? Me: Jesus, what's the deal?

Nomad's Paradise: May 2015

http://thenomadsisland.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html

Wednesday, May 6, 2015. Duluth Post no.7: Homegrown and More. An Aside* I've been writing this blog for several days. I had a whole lineup of things that I was going to write about. and now, I don't know if I remember it all. So you will be getting the last pickings of my brain. I'll just make a list of things and hopefully what I wanted to say will resurface. I really apologize for this terrible blog. hopefully next week goes better. 1 Last week was Homegrown in Duluth (and sometimes Superior, Wisco)!

Nomad's Paradise: Duluth Post No. 8: Meet Mort

http://thenomadsisland.blogspot.com/2015/06/duluth-post-no-8-meet-mort.html

Friday, June 12, 2015. Duluth Post No. 8: Meet Mort. One month and 6 days later. Today I was out having coffee with a friend and a bearded man asked if he could sit with us. We said sure, and he walked behind us and pulled a Corona Lite out from the bushes. And then he sat. He told us about his life. So I asked if I could write about him. He asked, "why would you want to write about me? I gave a Hallmark reply and said, "because everyone has a story". Mountain man beard to fit with his hair. All of this ...

Nomad's Paradise: Duluth Post No.4

http://thenomadsisland.blogspot.com/2015/02/duluth-post-no4.html

Thursday, February 26, 2015. Duluth Post No.4. So onward into the past several weeks. 1 I am transitioning again to a different job. I still work at the pub and with Positive Energy Outdoors. But now I work at Gander Mountain. I have quit. And now will be working at the Tongue and Groove store (making cabinets, flooring and paneling). This also means that I was not hired for the environmental place . Faith comes from listening to the right stories. After all, if you dig into the soil of humanity, wha...

The Nomads Kitchen

Proof that home is where the kitchen is. Monday, January 30, 2012. Pesto di Nonna Vita. This is the best way I have found to preserve the freshness of Basil to last for the whole year. Done in the simple Puglian way of Nonna Vita, the grandmother of my husband. This is super easy and keeps all winter long in your fridge. I add a spoon full of this lovelyness to brighten soups, sauces, as well as adding ground almonds or pine nuts and parmesan for a traditional Pesto. All you need;. Extra Virgin Olive Oil.

Rickmansworth Festival Gig Review

Rickmansworth Festival Gig Review. Tuesday, 24 May 2011. The Nomads rock Rickmansworth Festival. Festival debutants The Nomads came onto the main stage brimming with energy. Despite a technical hitch that saw their set cut by 10 mins, the band lit up the 2,000 crowd with classic tunes from the past five decades. Opening with the classic Play That Funky Music and closing with Bon Jovi’s, Living On A Prayer they had the audience boogying away on a beautiful still Saturday evening. Q So, how was it?
