A New Foodies Journey: Roasting: Sumatra Onan Ganjang & Kenya Murang'a AA Kangunu

http://www.thenoodletester.blogspot.com/2010/06/roasting-sumatra-onan-ganjang-kenya.html

A New Foodies Journey. Wednesday, June 16, 2010. Roasting: Sumatra Onan Ganjang and Kenya Murang'a AA Kangunu. I don't know how I will roast the Kenya just yet. I am hoping that this one will turn out as delicious as I anticipate. More on this one later. For those who are curious I tried the Yemen today. Super chocolaty but lacking in body. Had a deep leathery feel to it. Might try taking the next batch a little further, maybe caramelize some of that chocolate hue some. June 20, 2010 at 3:39 PM.

A New Foodies Journey. Sunday, March 14, 2010. My Chance to Try the Gesha. So it's not every day that you get to try the coffee worlds crown jewel, the Gesha bean from Hacienda la Esmeralda, but today I did. And while I may try to deny it, this little bean took my breath away. The body always stayed strong, and the sweetness (while having wavered a little) continued to impress. The aftertaste was smooth and pleasant, always leaving me wanting more. Roaster: Flying Goat Coffee. Brew Time: 4 min.

A New Foodies Journey: Brouwerij 3 Fonteinen Oude Geuze

http://www.thenoodletester.blogspot.com/2010/06/brouwerij-3-fonteinen-oude-geuze.html

A New Foodies Journey. Friday, June 11, 2010. Brouwerij 3 Fonteinen Oude Geuze. I am not the biggest fan of sours (sour things in general are not my bag) but when my friend Alex brings over a bottle of this stuff, you just don't refuse that sort of thing. So we chilled it to the proper temp (around 45F) and preceded to pour away. The tart aspect, while at first was a little affronting, grew on me and enhanced my appreciation for this finely crafted geuze. Produced: May 05, 2008.
