Purple Cabbage Soup|4 Ingredient Soup | The Nourishment Project
https://thenourishmentproject.wordpress.com/2015/09/21/purple-cabbage-soup4-ingredient-soup
Purple Cabbage Soup 4 Ingredient Soup. For years prior to this, soups seemed void of enough flavor appeal to make it into a regular rotation, and were so bogged down with processed ingredients that it lacked the ability to revive the body. More often than not, soup was a last resort when sick and that’s it. Here’s the secret. HOMEMADE BONE BROTH. That’s right. The only thing getting in the way of amazing, nourishing, soul warming soup is that carton from the store. Ditch it! Salt and pepper to taste.
Cultivating A Closer Relationship With God {Daily Devotions Practice} | The Nourishment Project

Cultivating A Closer Relationship With God {Daily Devotions Practice}. Rest assured God knows how fleeting our commitment to him is. He won’t abandon us for that shortcoming. However, His constant love needs to provoke us to returning quicker with each wondering if we really want to benefit and grow closer to the wonderful blessings he has for us. S I read past the verse Colossians 3:8, a. Name popped into my head. It stopped my focus and surprised me. Where did that come from? I am excited to see what I...

For The Love of Books How I Fell In Love With Reading. I am not the kind of girl who finds eReader or Ipads to be appealing. Although practical to have every book in one carry-along source, I find that the magic of reading is less intense without the smell of print, rustle of pages and varying weights of books. I love the covers that line my bookshelf, each as unique as their contents. What I didn’t understand is the reason I kept failing at reading. I hadn’t discovered my genre of choice! As I pass the ...
Ginger Rice Porridge with Purple Sweet Potato | The Nourishment Project

Ginger Rice Porridge with Purple Sweet Potato. Being as it is actually starting to get chilly around here, I thought I would share a rainy day favorite of mine- rice porridge with warming ginger and vibrant purple sweet potato. On a cold, chilly morning who doesn’t enjoy a warm breakfast? I used leftover cooked purple sweet potato in mine, however this would taste just as lovely with nuts, seeds or dried fruit! 2 cups Milk (I use goat or nut milk, but others will work as well). Finish with raw honey and ...

Here’s to 2016! |
https://howfitting.wordpress.com/2016/01/01/heres-to-2016
Here’s to 2016! January 1, 2016. This year I made a lot of things, several of which I didn’t share. I learned new things and pushed myself to be better, and I took more time to make for others. Next year I hope to do a lot more of the same. Here are some goals for 2016:. I want to paint. Even just once. Even if it isn’t any good. I want to try serger sewing. I acquired a lot of knits in November, and I’ve made some work, but I want to have them be better in their finishings. I want to enjoy and wear the ...

Selfish Knitting and IKEA for the Win. December 12, 2015. Since I am on the verge of finishing up (and showing off) a lovely sweater that should be done any day, I figured it was time to deviate from sewing discussion a little to talk a little about my knitting this year. I am a selfish sewist, but I am not a selfish knitter. Usually. Last winter changed that. I had made some cowls for friends for Christmas and had a ball of art yarn leftover that was interesting. I also had a six hour drive to S...I dec...
Unintentional sewing |

February 20, 2016. Despite planning, or understanding of sewing fundamentals, occasionally I think my brain shuts down for a bit and everything goes differently from how I intended it. Recently, I made a very unintentional jacket. I intended to make a wearable muslin of this jacket. I honestly know enough about all of this that I really should have prepared better than I did, but by trimming the edges and finishing them to prevent further fraying, the jacket amazingly works as is. I love happy accidents!

August 20, 2016. As I sweat I dream of Fall. I read on wunderground.com this morning that July was the hottest July that has ever been recorded, on Earth. I don’t know when they started recording these things, but I do know July has been hot. Weather doesn’t last forever, though, does it? Last year, when I went through this cycle, I didn’t do anything until it was almost too late, cranking out a few mesely items after I was already freezing. This year, with everything going on, and the knowledg...My husb...
Spring Fever |

February 19, 2016. While a good sized chunk of the American population was dealing with this year’s version of Snowpocalypse, Vegas had a week that felt something close to warm, and it was wonderful! Keeping with my general color palette, and the idea that I really like very simple, but feminine clothing, I’ve found myself making a lot of new things lately, and it is really exciting. Fall had a lot of purple. Who knows what summer will bring. Maybe crimson and indigo? So Much. Fun! Enter your comment here.

When you can’t sew… |
https://howfitting.wordpress.com/2016/01/06/when-you-cant-sew
When you can’t sew…. January 6, 2016. I’ve been laid up since before New Years with something closely resembling a sinus infection, and I broke my last sewing machine needle sewing a little zippered pouch for a Christmas present, so no new sewing has been going down. I’m trying to learn how to sew with knits, so two of the patterns were for knit fabric, the Sallie jumpsuit by Closet Case Files. And the Hudson pants from True Bias. The other two patterns I bought are for the Roscoe blouse by True Bias.
