Wednesday, April 02, 2008. Greatest Hits of Creation "Science". Aprils Fools day seems to me to be far too much work, especially on the internet where whatever you do someone is bound to act up about it, case in point; the Top 10 Creationist Discoveries. Apparently the top scientific minds of the creation museum think that the reason T-Rex has extremely large teeth is because they were used to eat coconuts. Why would they feel the need to claim this? the observers hunch: February 2007

Wednesday, February 28, 2007. Gems It's really hard to figure out which articles are real and which are satire. Not that it really matters because they're both funny. I'll actually post the relevant bits because I'm sure they won't be around in their original form for long, all bold is mine, all poor spelling is theirs. The Second Estate was a social level in pre. The Battle Of Hastings. The Battle of Hastings was in AD 1066. William the Conquerer. Disguised himself as the Duke of Normandy. Er, he was.

Monday, April 30, 2007. The Frustrating World of Games. I just came across this video at Break.com, it sums up perfectly the utter frustration I felt at many games as a child, many was the time I would be reduced to a quivering, screaming, swearing ball of fury at my inability to jump onto some moving block in one of the Mario Bros games. The commentary is brilliant, and vastly more polite than I would have been. Enjoy. Super Mario Brothers Is Frustrating pt2. Links to this post. Sunday, April 29, 2007.

Wednesday, March 28, 2007. This "paradox" seems to me to be inherently wrong anyway, it makes the assumption that women have always been free to choose who they marry, which of course is blatantly not the case. It also of course neglects the impact of women choosing to marry for reasons other than looks, money being the obvious example. The scientists claim that since genetic mutations can occur anywhere in the genome, some will affect the DNA repair kit possessed by all cells. Links to this post. Howeve...

http://theobservershunch.blogspot.com/2007/10/ddh-has-linked-to-very-amusing-video.html

Monday, October 22, 2007. Expanding Earth or Shrinking Brains? Like any good crank he mixes in a lot of half truths with a lot of absolute nonsense, there are too many problems to look at now, but here are some of the best that just sprung to mind:. Throughout the video he claims subduction and movement of plates are impossible, yet somehow expansion of the entire Earth is fine. Hmm. If the Earth is doubling in size where does all of this extra mass come from? Success" with geology he moves onto Physics,...

NPRs Research: February 2006

http://nicsresearch.blogspot.com/2006_02_01_archive.html

Saturday, February 25, 2006. Two wrongs (sometimes) make a right. At 5:30pm on Friday, I spotted a potentially huge mistake in the SQL query I'd been using to query the CAS. I had written (FibreMag i - deVRad i 0) for the object to be return rather than (FibreMag i - deV Mag. I 0) I then compounded this mistake by using the correct SQL but on the. Table and thus had a major, major panic and stress when I couldn't understand why the numbers changes SO much. Posted by NPR at 9:15 AM. The ELG run starts on ...

Friday, May 26, 2006. Had a long discussion this morning with Biebly about what exactly the covariance is and how you calculate it. This was v. informative because now, not being satisfied that I know what IDL is doing, I'm going to modify some of my own code to work out the best-fit line with the covariances taken into account. The Observers Outpost – Missives from an Alien among You

Missives from an Alien among You. What Was Always Underneath. You can always count on people to comment on two things: tattoos and bandages. In combination, they are irresistible. As a result, I’ve spent a relatively large portion of the day trying to explain the significance of a 3400 year old mound builder site and why I now have one of the hallmarks of the culture on my hand. First things first: background. They did it by building. And back to the present (kinda). Dennis LaBatt was running the site ba...
