The Old Dairy: February 2016
http://theolddairy.blogspot.com/2016/02
Working towards a more sustainable and simple life. Thursday, February 25, 2016. No this is not my pantry, I wish. What about this one. Look at the abundance in this pantry or more like a larder. WOW. I wonder what there veggie garden must look like. Unfortunately my pantry isn't Pinterest worthy. It is a hard working room. Starting with the door which is a black board to write lists on. Not having a lot of storage in our house this is the main. Egg cartons, Christmas dinner sets, flasks etc. Is it the n...

The Old Dairy: Hello!
http://theolddairy.blogspot.com/2016/08/hello.html
Working towards a more sustainable and simple life. Tuesday, August 23, 2016. Spring is nearly here and I have been spending a lot of time in the garden. Also taking cuttings and getting a head start with them in the glass house. Bruce has been busy putting windows into our out door area. They can all open and will keep the rain out so we can still use this space. We did a market in our little local town last week end. I think Harry loved it as well. I have had the crocheting bug and making every one rugs.

Working towards a more sustainable and simple life. Thursday, May 21, 2015. I can't beleive it's been so long since I blogged. We had Alanahs baby shower a couple of weeks ago. Alanah is due on the 2nd June so any day now,she might even get the baby on her birthday which is the 29th May. I hope it's a boy as every thing sure is blue! By the end of the year I will have 7 grand children as Jessica is expecting her third baby in September. I am looking forward to Christmas this year, with all the babys.

THE SIMPLE THINGS: LEMON & KIWI FRUIT TART
http://caroline-thesimplethings.blogspot.com/2009/07/lemon-kiwi-fruit-tart.html
A little bit of this and a little bit of that. Friday, July 10, 2009. LEMON and KIWI FRUIT TART. Here is the recipe for the Lemon and Kiwi fruit tart I mentioned yesterday. I used a prepared pie base just because I had one in the freezer I wanted to get rid of. Of course if you make your own the taste will probably be superior, but if you are in a hurry with guests coming for dinner and need something for a scrumptious dessert the preparation time for this tart is only about 10Min's with a prepared flan.

Home to the World. A homestay mother's experiences. Sunday, December 4, 2011. It's Starting to Look a Lot Like Christmas. Santa's helpers: Ezra (Indonesia) and Tae (South Korea). First you feed them. Then you get them to build. In the past I'd take my students an hour north to Arlington where there's an excellent choice of Christmas tree farms, and we'd cut our own. But every year little critters. Managed to hitch-hike home with us. Three years ago one of those critters spun its own Christmas. Its Starti...

Home to the World: Happy New Year!
http://hometotheworld.blogspot.com/2012/01/happy-new-year.html
Home to the World. A homestay mother's experiences. Wednesday, January 18, 2012. OK, I know the month is half over, but I'm wishing you all a happy new year, anyway! Toshi, one of my former homestay students, surprised me with a gift from his mom and him. These are the traditional new year's gift crackers that are given among friends in Japan. Thank you, Toshi! I'm sure there is a significance in each of these crackers, but before I could text Toshi to ask him, I hit the 'publish' button by mistake!

Working towards a more sustainable and simple life. Wednesday, February 22, 2017. Hi all and welcome. This week we have been getting rid of a few trees.5. One fruit and the other 4 are problem native trees that have got way too big. You can see the natives in among the palms .Plus they drop there lower limbs all the time so time for them to go. I have persevered with this peach tree for 5 years and it has never bared any fruit. So it was time for it to go. In between doing the never ending book work.
