No visit to Ripley is complete without sampling the delights of. There are magnificent Clydesdale heavy horses bred on the farm. These gentle giants are the Scottish equivalent of the English shire horse. Some of the horses work on the farm, and some are kept for breeding future show winners. Hens and chickens roam freely in the farmyard, pigs and piglets can be seen in the pigsty.
