Monday, December 28, 2009. Qualities of a Leader. This post is a speech I wrote for a training at the food and beverage department daily briefing at Potawatomi Casino. But I read, and I sifted; sorted, organized, categorized; and I came up with what I believe are the five qualities of a great leader; and they are: vision, confidence, trust, ownership, and humility. I’ll take them each individually, give a couple closing remarks and hopefully we’ll be back to work in about 20 minutes. A confident leader c...

my back forties: Prayer Before Communion
http://backforties.blogspot.com/2009/12/prayer-before-communion.html
Monday, December 7, 2009. Mary, my mother, enter into my heart and receive the body of your son Jesus as you received him into your womb at the incarnation, and into your arms at the nativity and the foot of the cross. Receive him with humility, recollection and great love, as you received him in holy communion; and pray for me, Mother of My Soul, who am your unworthy servant. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). my back forties: January 2010
http://backforties.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html
Wednesday, January 20, 2010. At What Price a Cucumber? I'd like to ruminate for a bit on sustainable agricultural practices, specifically; the relative advantages and disadvantages of locally raised, organic, grass-fed beef as compared with commercially produced grain-fed. I'm not lobbying for one or the other practice but simply trying to lay out the relative merits of both and their impact on the environment, society, and the economy. I also want to talk about cucumbers. Remember the circle of life?

8 O'Clock Chaplet: Should We TakeThe Spruce?
http://8oclockchaplet.blogspot.com/2009/01/should-we-takethe-spruce.html
Believe in the impossible and you can do the incredible. Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen. Wednesday, January 21, 2009. Should We TakeThe Spruce? This is mainly a post of questions. First of all, should we change anything about the blog? I don't particularly have any ideas, mostly looking for permission to play. AND, if you guys DO like the idea of change. . . change to what? Should the blog be sophisticated? Like your mom's house? Also, do we want to start up the 8 o'clock chaplet again? Anyway, let me know.

The Antediluvian: March 2007
http://antediluvian1.blogspot.com/2007_03_01_archive.html
Tuesday, March 20, 2007. Atlantis Rising . Introduction. I have decided to shift gears here for a little while. Rather than pursue what happened on 9-11 (a mystery which requires a much more in depth investigation than it got), I have decided that I am going to write a book. This book will be the culmination of something I have been reading and researching for almost 15 years. Since I have already invested so much time into the subject, I guess it's time to get something out of it. The common theme is th...

8 O'Clock Chaplet: February 2009
http://8oclockchaplet.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html
Believe in the impossible and you can do the incredible. Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen. Wednesday, February 25, 2009. Well, I discovered a letter, dated from at least a month ago, informing me that the local company which had been providing Internet service, was now owned by the city, and that my bill for January was due a few weeks ago. I just now sent the payment. Go figure. Teach me to ignore my mail. Oh, I also discovered a debit card. Thursday, February 19, 2009. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
