Heating and Air conditioning. Motor and Bike Racing. The nearest local town is Civray, about 5 minutes by car. It is an old town on the river Charante. The romanesque church in the town is one of the oldest in France and the restored pre-reformation painted interior is superb. The market in the town is the best in the area and there is good shopping here. There are also several big supermarkets on the outskirts of the town. The winter can also make the town attractive.

Civray, which is five minutes away by car, has markets on Tuesdays and Fridays, the Tuesday one being the larger. Fish, meat, vegetables, cheese, baskets, clothing, flowers, table cloths, soaps, leather, handicrafts, paintings and cards by local artist Angela Berry and many other items make a colorful display.

All the rooms are on the ground floor and there are no steps or changes in level. There is a high level electric socket in most rooms and lots in the kitchen area. The kitchen also has a low level, wheelchair accessible sink and worktop, with a view over the garden.
