The Classics Club | Many Media Musings
https://manymediamusings.wordpress.com/projects/the-classics-club
A chronicle of musings on media. See my introductory post on this page. Here is the list of 75 books and plays I will take on over the next five years, presented in alphabetical order by author. An asterisk denotes a reread. My end date will be March 22, 2017. Before beginning, I was most excited to read. Since I’d heard absolutely brilliant things about it. I was least looking forward to rereading. And DH. Lawrence’s. Poems by Currer, Ellis, and Acton Bell. Brontë, A.). The Tenant of Wildfell Hall.

Camino Literario: March 2013
http://wordscurlinglikeringsofsmoke.blogspot.com/2013_03_01_archive.html
Wednesday, March 27, 2013. The Sun Also Rises - Ernest Hemingway. It sickened me to read the parts of the bullring. I tried to be as objective as possible, reminding myself that it was part of a story and had its purpose there. I have read many other unpleasant things before and they didn’t affect me this way. I have read about horrible wars, death, misery. Why this, then? Why was this affecting me so? What about the characters? When I wrote my review of A Moveable Feast. Labels: a moveable feast. Monday...

Camino Literario: My Shakespeare Project
http://wordscurlinglikeringsofsmoke.blogspot.com/p/ive-given-this-project-lot-of-thought.html
Shakespeare wanted for the public to SEE his plays, not necessarily to read them. It is certain that if I don’t see them they won’t have the same impact on me and I will not be able to discover everything there is to enjoy in them; therefore I will also see the plays (BBC adaptations, RSC performances available in its You Tube Channel. And any other movie adaptation). The First Folio published in 1623. And The Two Noble Kinsmen. Advice is most welcomed). And I love it. :). 2 More thoughts on Hamlet.

A reader's footprints. A reader's footprints. Lost in the Stacks. The world is a book…. August 21, 2016. August 24, 2016. I started to build my ‘virtual shelves’ over at Goodreads. Such clear visibility has certainly helped to put things into clearer perspectives. I now know that I own a total of 953 books (shocking! Definitely not a very comforting ‘revelation’. But as it happens, I just read a beautiful piece by Anthony Doerr and was once again reminded of what it is that I can take comfort in. For my ...

Camino Literario: January 2013
http://wordscurlinglikeringsofsmoke.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html
Thursday, January 31, 2013. A Moveable Feast - Ernest Hemingway. I've heard so many different opinions about Hemingway. People either love him or hate him, according to my experience. It seems as if he causes the same passionate reactions that characterized him during his life. I read The Old Man and The Sea. Ernest Hemingway, Hadley and Sylvia Beach in front of Shakespeare and Co. When I sat down to write the review for this book my mind went blank. I didn't understand why I was having a hard time w...

Painted With Words – A reader's footprints
https://inkyfoot.wordpress.com/2015/02/12/painted-with-words
A reader's footprints. A reader's footprints. Lost in the Stacks. The world is a book…. February 12, 2015. If you happen to be a fan of Van Gogh, I think you would find this BBC drama documentary, Vincent Van Gogh: Painted With Words. To be a real treat. If you also happen to be a fan of the talented Benedict Cumberbatch (a.k.a Sherlock), then this would probably serve as a double treat for you.🙂. I chanced upon this while browsing around Youtube for the trailer to. I thought you might like it, too.
