The lecture was attended by students from my two classes and many others from the art department. I presented a retrospective of my work from undergraduate years, through graduate school, to the present. I’ve enjoyed being a Visiting Artist this year and it was great to share my work with the CSU art community.

Another thing that Japanese Comic writers and Animators did well that many American Comic writers could not do was appeal to female readers. Japanese Comics managed to appeal to both male and female audiences and specific audiences. In contrast, most american commics kept similar themes running through them, which was superheroes and supervillians. Even the female characters didn't particularly appeal to many female readers.
