Closer to Home: a perfectly perfect day.
http://closertohomepnw.blogspot.com/2012/06/perfectly-perfect-day.html
Sunday, June 10, 2012. A perfectly perfect day. Memorial Day weekend Rachel and Oscar spent a delirious, delicious, hilarious, and sweet afternoon visit at my house! They were in town to meet, snuggle and schmooze with a brand new family member on the Macy side in Newberg (Baby Will, who, judging from photos. Is as adorable as all the rest of Oscar's cousins). My place was jumping with boyz for hours! It was a perfect day. Perfect and sweet and funny and fun. Rachel actively listening to Grayson. Its tak...

Closer to Home: September 2011
http://closertohomepnw.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html
Sunday, September 25, 2011. I was going to wait to post these until later in the week- not sure why now. I just love these shots of Griffin! He is an adorable, sweet-natured little guy, and we had a great time together on Friday while I babysat. He wasn't too sure about the camera at first, but eventually he figured out it was still me behind that big one-eyed thing in my hands. Labels: photos by z. Yup Six months old already. And you can probably tell that they are a pretty tight team. Labels: photo by z.

Closer to Home: small ambitions
http://closertohomepnw.blogspot.com/2012/06/small-ambitions.html
Sunday, June 10, 2012. I'm restless. This blog isn't what I want it to be and I keep thinking I'm going to make changes but can't quite figure out how to implement them here on Blogger, or maybe it's the limitations of my little netbook that are preventing me from progressing. Whatever. I need to make changes, and just altering the background image or layout here doesn't exactly satisfy, you know? Labels: photo by z. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). John Isaac Williams: Before And After
http://johniwilliams.blogspot.com/2010/06/before-and-after.html
Painter. Printmaker. Artist. Tuesday, June 1, 2010. A lot of my work is about the process, the journey from beginning to end. What I begin with usually has no discernible voice at the end of a painting although, there are traces of the initial idea and brush strokes under all the layers. This series of paintings began about 18 months ago - before Oscar was born! So, here are some before and afters. 2010 24x24. Acrylic, ink, flashe on canvas. Flight of the Shelter Melter". Crash of the Tetons".

Closer to Home: woman
http://closertohomepnw.blogspot.com/p/woman.html
From my earliest memories I have had an appreciation for the erotic, maybe because of my dad's collection of Playboys. Stacked in my parents' bedroom, or maybe just because I've always had a healthy curiosity about bodies of all kinds. I've been taking photos of nudes for years now, and have posted some online in my Flickr account and a few at other online sites, but I feel it's time to honor this aspect of my interest by including some of my better photos here on the blog.
