A speed painting exercise this weekend for my daughter Ella's best friend Lucy, who is building a model of the Trojan Horse from iceblock sticks for a school project. Her mum asked if I had some little men that could go with the display and I immediately grabbed the opportunity to paint some Spartans from the unpainted miniatures box. Buy a new bed and keep the MDF and polystyrene packaging it came with. Cut up MDF into squares and glue on textured wallpaper. Carve up the polystyrene packing. Attach polystyrene with PVA to create passages, room corners and interesting cavern features. Water down a darker colour. Make a Walled Keep with anything left over. ;).
