The parenting learning curve

The parenting learning curve. Friday, July 3, 2015. Everyone is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree,. It will live its whole life believing that it is stupid. Your superpower will show itself in time and you may not notice it is happening. I didn't recognize mine as I was receiving them, it happened so gradually. After I had Liam I developed superhuman hearing. I was constantly listening; was he breathing, not breathing? Thursday, May 7, 2015. In the end, I have this. Appeare...

The parenting learning curve: December 2014

http://theparentinglearningcurve.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html

The parenting learning curve. Tuesday, December 16, 2014. No room on my shelf for an Elf. And then creating all of the mischief that this Elf should be getting into. Daily. I have trouble showering daily, I can't imagine moving an Elf to a different location every night. That is a lot of pressure. This is not meant to knock the moms who can keep up with Elf on a shelf, you probably also make the recipes that you pin on Pinterest. Bravo. :). Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). The parenting learning curve: Fill my bucket

http://theparentinglearningcurve.blogspot.com/2015/03/fill-my-bucket.html

The parenting learning curve. Sunday, March 22, 2015. At my work there is a small whiteboard on the other side of my cubicle. There is usually a weekly question written on it. Simple questions like what is your favorite ice cream flavor to more complex, like who would play you in a film about your life. (FYI, my vote is Zooey Deschanel. She might just be kooky enough.) A few months ago the question What is on your bucket list. Appeared. Tough one. I'd never thought about it before. From the global TEDx.

The parenting learning curve: July 2014

http://theparentinglearningcurve.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html

The parenting learning curve. Thursday, July 17, 2014. The first time is the hardest (or not). Partying like a rock star (who has a 1AM curfew). William was home with them on Friday and my babysitter was with them on Saturday. I was in a friend's room Friday night, not ready to go to bed and we were up late talking. I said that that was my first night staying somewhere away from my kids. She asked if I was okay and I replied, "Absolutely". When I got home Sunday afternoon do you know what happened? Maybe...

The parenting learning curve: May 2015

http://theparentinglearningcurve.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html

The parenting learning curve. Thursday, May 7, 2015. In the end, I have this. One night I couldn't sleep and I sat up and cried, worried that you would have to mourn the mom that you used to have. That night it came to me. In the end, I have this. I hope that when you are older that you still have access to this blog. I have been writing it for five years and instead of a baby book, this belongs to you. Above all else, be kind. And if I ever forget to tell you, remember that I love you.

The Parenting Journey | The ins and outs of being a mommy

The ins and outs of being a mommy. My little baby is two months old today! It is also the longest day of the year, Father’s Day, and the estimated due date for my first kid (she came 5 days earlier though). Anyway here is a pic of my little one! Hopefully the redness will disappear by tomorrow and we’ll go back to his BNB. Oh top of that he also developed a nasty rash all over his body. Poor little guy. And yes, sleep is important. I am tired. I am writing in short sentences. Today we went to see the ort...

February 04, 2015. The Wrong Thing for the Right Reasons. We saw this coming, people, like me who have followed discussions and argued the case for childhood vaccination year after year. First there were clusters of whooping cough and the mumps, then a few out isolated outbreaks of measles in under-vaccinated communities. Now with outbreaks of Measles in 18 states, the debate about vaccines has gone mainstream – and it’s turning ugly. This New Yorker cartoon. Make vaccination law water-tight! Yes, kids w...
