The Paring has an extraordinary pedigree. Made from the vineyard blocks that are either too young or don't fit into the vintage style of the highly acclaimed Jonata and The Hilt wines The Paring is essentially a "chip off the old block. The grapes are sourced primarily from three Santa Barbara regions on the vanguard: Ballard Canyon, Sta. Rita Hills and Santa Maria Valley. The Paring makes its own rules.

Matt comes to wine with an untethered philosophy, a mindset embodied in The Paring. At the core of these wines one finds a wide-ranging exploration of style, vineyards and blending. When he's not working with The Paring, Matt can be found making the wines for its big sister wineries- Jonata and The Hilt.

On how to throw a proper 1930s party. Lovely Rosemary had her 30th birthday on January 1st, and we threw her a surprise 1930s themed party at the Pardi’s house. It was hands down the best NYE party I have ever been to. Three levels of action including a Speakeasy down in the wine cellar and everyone looking their finest in period appropriate attire. Yesterday as snow fell in Colorado I rode my mountain bike up Tam without even barely getting muddy. There is something to be said for that. Here are a few shots from this glorious season:.
