Baby Cakes: May 2012

Thursday, May 31, 2012. Reese's Peanut Butter Cup Cupcakes. These cupcakes aren't that exciting and I have no idea what I made them for. But ever since I made Martha Stewart's. Oreo Cheesecake cupcakes, Drew has been obsessed with trying to come up with all these candy/cupcake combinations to try. Most of them sound good in theory, but wouldn't really work. So to give him what he wanted, we made these easy Reese's Peanut Butter Cup cupcakes. I keep forgetting to use this stand when I take my pictures!

Baby Cakes: Happy Birthday Jolie!
http://selfbabycakes.blogspot.com/2011/06/happy-birthday-jolie.html
Wednesday, June 15, 2011. My amazing little niece Jolie's 3rd birthday party was June 4. My brother called me and asked if I could do the cupcakes. Of course I can! Anything for Jolie :). After much debate between fairies, pirates and who knows what else, Jolie decided she wanted a Tangled themed birthday party. Having never seen it, all I knew was that it was Disney's newest version of Rapunzel. I definitely had to do my research to get it right! I mean seriously, look how excited she is? That's Jolie's...

Friday, April 22, 2011. Easter cake pops and flower cupcakes! How cute are these? I am soo excited about how they turned out! Everyone knows Drew is the free hand creative one, so I followed his lead on the egg decorating. Easter egg dipping, painting, and the rest have never been my strong point! It was my idea for the vertical stripes on some though! I think these chicks are fabulous! I mean seriously, don't they look like they can talk? They all have individual personalities coming through :). To star...

Wednesday, August 22, 2012. DIY Pink-Polka Dot washing machine. Let me just say that my husband is awesome and indulges me! How many guys would let their wives get away with this? I am just going to start with the after picture because I am obsessed with my newly painted pink and polka dotted washing machine! I had seen this Pin. It was a fairly simply project, except it was a very small room to work in and I did not want to pull them out. So I only painted their tops and fronts. They make me happy!

Baby Cakes: Cake pops!
http://selfbabycakes.blogspot.com/2012/08/cake-pops.html
Thursday, August 2, 2012. My friend Amanda was hosting a baby shower for her sister-in-law in June and asked for my help with the dessert. She wanted to make cake pops but had never made them before. I hadn't done them in a couple of months so I was all for helping! Since she has a 1 year old, I packed up all my stuff and we did them at her house. (My house is definitely not baby proof! Take the white pop stick, dip into candy coating and then insert about halfway into a cake ball. I do this to about...

In pink Aunt Kelly, PINK! That I can handle! On with the skirt trials! So, skirt done! So, easiest fix- make two skirt...

Baby Cakes: More Peanut Butter cupcakes
http://selfbabycakes.blogspot.com/2012/07/more-peanut-butter-cupcakes.html
Tuesday, July 31, 2012. More Peanut Butter cupcakes. Can you tell my husband loves chocolate and peanut butter? Drew had an event at work that he needed cupcakes for, and that's the flavor combo he wanted, again. Not wanting to make the same exact kind twice, I hunted Pinterest for a new recipe. I found a couple that would work, but the best looked like this Pin. For Peanut Butter ball cupcakes. Tuesday, July 31, 2012. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). College Station, Texas. Baby Cakes: September 2011
http://selfbabycakes.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html
Friday, September 16, 2011. Back to School for Mr. Self. My husband, who is a 4th grade teacher, started back to school a couple of weeks ago. I decided him and his fellow teachers probably needed some special treats to get them back in the rhythm and help endure teacher in-service! We decided apples, of course! They are actually really easy to make, especially if you have a candy cutting helper like Drew! We made ALOT of cupcakes! I wanted to make sure everyone got one, or two! How about this candy jar?

Baby Cakes: Cupcake Party! - high heels, speghetti & angry birds
http://selfbabycakes.blogspot.com/2012/07/cupcake-party.html
Tuesday, July 31, 2012. High heels, speghetti and angry birds. After some massive hint dropping, my husband bought me the newest Hello Cupcake book, cupcakes, cookies, and pie, oh my! Love him :) I could not wait to get started on some of their newest designs, especially the high heels! I have a slight shoe obsession! When it's time to go home, everyone has 3 of each cupcake to take with them. Of licorice, nose/beak from orange candy slices and the feathers were jelly beans. One of the teachers at Drew's...
