Always Homemade: October 2013
http://lisasalwayshomemade.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html
Wednesday, October 30, 2013. Gender Neutral Baby Shower Gift. I used Grant's old bibs as a template for these. I give these burp cloths. At the last minute I realized I didn't have a card, which happens to me a lot. I tend to forget to include one and have the guest of honor who the gift is from, to which I have to shout over every one "that ones from me". So I got out my Cricut and my Boys Will Be Boys Cricut Lite cartridge and made this:. Tuesday, October 29, 2013. Mama Ramblings: Quiet Time. Even if m...

Always Homemade: July 2014
http://lisasalwayshomemade.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html
Wednesday, July 23, 2014. Relay For Life 2014. Our Relay was at the end of June this year and while I'm relieved the festivities are over (due to the amount of preparation and work involved) I'm also sad because I thoroughly enjoy it. We had some new team members this year so I spent the whole of one evening painting more team shirts using the freezer paper stencil. Method. I think I ended up finishing about 15 shirts including a onesie for our youngest relayer. We also had homemade cookies and a fleece ...

Always Homemade: August 2013
http://lisasalwayshomemade.blogspot.com/2013_08_01_archive.html
Thursday, August 29, 2013. There are a few things I ALWAYS try to keep in my freezer and I look for these items on sale or on manager special marked down. Having these things always helps when trying to get by on spending less at the grocery store. It makes it easy to throw meals together on the fly and makes it possible for me to have a tiny grocery budget. Meat In an ideal world I would have smoked sausage, chicken breast, ground beef, pork loin, pork chops, and beef roast in my freezer at all times...

Always Homemade: Flubber Fun
http://lisasalwayshomemade.blogspot.com/2014/06/flubber-fun.html
Friday, June 13, 2014. Since I started watching my 10 year old cousin this summer I've been scouring the internet and trying my best to come up with some activities that will both occupy a 10 year old and 3 year old and will keep their attention for more than 37 seconds. 3/4 cup cold water. 1 cup Elmer’s glue. 1/2 cup hot water. 1 teaspoon borax (you can find this in a box in the laundry aisle). Step 1: in bowl 1 – mix together the cold water, glue, and food coloring. set aside. Disclaimer: if your child...

Always Homemade: May 2014

Thursday, May 29, 2014. Yellow/Pink Chevron Bridal Shower. My sister's bridal Shower was this past weekend and I of course had to make some water bottle labels for my lil sister's shower. I'm so excited with how they turned out. I used Picmonkey to create the image and wording. It's simple yet classic and that's what I wanted. I used my Cricut to cut the circle shapes. Enter: Coffee filter flowers. Here's how my first one turned out before I painted it. Here are the thank you tags I created in Picmonkey.

Always Homemade: November 2013
http://lisasalwayshomemade.blogspot.com/2013_11_01_archive.html
Tuesday, November 26, 2013. Mama Ramblings: Shots to tell or not to tell. I have struggled with how to approach doctor visits with Grant. Whether to tell him as little as possible or explain everything and risk him getting scared and throwing a fit. Since his previous trips were so long ago I knew he didn't remember what going to the doctor entailed, and I could never fully explain everything for him to understand due to his age. Wednesday, November 20, 2013. Black Bean and Rotel Burritos. But of course ...

Always Homemade: Hulk and Iron Man Freezer Paper Stencil Shirt
http://lisasalwayshomemade.blogspot.com/2014/07/hulk-and-iron-man-freezer-paper-stencil.html
Friday, July 18, 2014. Hulk and Iron Man Freezer Paper Stencil Shirt. That's what my 3 year old runs around our house saying.over, and over and over. He loves the Avengers. He loves superheroes. He always notices the shirts in all the stores with these characters on them but lets face it, I'm not made of money, he has plenty of other shirts, and they are always upwards of $15 each. She makes it herself of course. Of course the wording immediately came to me, it had to be, Hulk Smash! Another trip to Hobb...
