A Cat in the Window: February 2014

But I won't dwell on that. Doing a flower on (almost) every day of this month was my way of meditating on Cathy Walsh, our local florist and beloved member of the community, who was such an inspiring and joyful person before her untimely recent passing. Posted by Jen Niles. Day 28 was another missing day.

A Cat in the Window: A quick and easy little craft
http://a-cat-in-the-window.blogspot.com/2015/05/a-quick-and-easy-little-craft.html
Friday, May 1, 2015. A quick and easy little craft. This little project is a manageable size, you can use bright colors that will fire up the creative spirit, and you'll be so proud to have made something you can use. It is a watercolor paper "purse pad.". All you need is some watercolor paper, a stack of regular all-purpose printer paper, a sturdy rubber band and a very basic set of watercolors. A nifty purse pad. Every time you use it, you will be reminded of your creative awesomeness. Do Art Every Day.

A Cat in the Window: Custom pet paintings
http://a-cat-in-the-window.blogspot.com/2014/04/custom-pet-paintings.html
Tuesday, April 1, 2014. I love to do custom work! And admittedly I don't put them on my web site because web design takes me so darned long. But I can share one here. One at time! That's how all great things get done, right? This one, I think, is sweet; a friend had me paint it for her in-laws for Christmas. They had recently lost their beloved beagle. Here, it is shown as an angel flying peacefully over their house. Posted by Jen Niles. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Just thinkin' about the season.

A Cat in the Window: Another custom pet painting
http://a-cat-in-the-window.blogspot.com/2014/04/another-custom-pet-painting.html
Tuesday, April 1, 2014. Another custom pet painting. This one is a small custom pet painting. Just 5x5, and 1.5" deep so it could either go on the wall or stand by itself on a table. The customer got it for her dad, who likes to walk the beach with his dog, so the background is the sand and water of the beach. Posted by Jen Niles. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Ramblings of an Art School Dropout: April 2012
http://ramblingsofanartschooldropout.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html
Ramblings of an Art School Dropout. Thursday, April 12, 2012. New Year, New Commission. I am back. Since Christmas I have put away all my beads, and have been working on a painting project for my friend S. She brought me a table and chairs to paint for her son Z. The designs are not mine, I used the theme she had going on already in Z's room upon her request. I don't usually like doing this, but the designs *are* pretty cute! Who can resist frogs and mushrooms, right? Links to this post.

Ramblings of an Art School Dropout. Tuesday, March 29, 2011. I'm catching up here, only a couple of weeks behind now! 2 weekends ago I went home to paint a mural on my Mom's friend's kitchen wall. She *so* loved the birch mural that A and I painted for my brother and his wife that she wanted birch trees too. She re-painted her kitchen a lovely color, and I think they came out rather nice against it. Links to this post. Labels: wall mural birch trees painting mural birch tree. Tuesday, March 22, 2011.

Ramblings of an Art School Dropout. Tuesday, June 21, 2011. Summer is finally here! It even *feels* like summer. My garden has finally woken up out of sleep mode. I'm fighting the birds for my strawberries and eating tons of salad with my fresh lettuce and radishes. Peas are ready to pick at this very moment! I planted some of these babies the other day.can't wait to see if they really are gigantic as Burpee says! Big Mama lima beans. We went to the MFA to check out the Chihuly. I've also been checking o...
