Sun and Scooters | The Perfect Dansk Pastry
https://theperfectpastry.wordpress.com/2012/11/19/finally-getting-some-sun
The Perfect Dansk Pastry. The City of Lights. A Foodie’s Dream →. November 19, 2012. We definitely got in tune with the “beach mentality”, and enjoyed relaxing at our awesome hostel, which included the cutest balcony. A few naps, as well as group cuddles on all of our beds pushed together to watch movies, took place here. In true Albecpeta fashion, we decided to spend our funds for the day on food rather than partying. Hey, you have to make scarifies somewhere. Posted in Eating and Drinking.

The Perfect Dansk Pastry. Newer posts →. Stepping outside the classroom. October 28, 2012. Sorry it has been so long since my last post! DIS really knows how to keep you busy! One thing I really love about the DIS program is how they take what you learn in class, and then offer opportunities for you to receive hands on experiences beyond the textbook. Our first stop was to Bullenhuser Damn School,. We also visited Nicolai Kirche,. The most touching visit on the trip was to Neuengamme Concentration Camp,.

The Perfect Dansk Pastry. Cozy Christmas Sweaters →. A Foodie’s Dream. November 20, 2012. Finally making it to Italy can be described in one simple amazing word: food. That night I was lucky enough to have dinner with one of my best friends from home, Emmie. It was so nice to be able to see a familiar face! She was nice enough to take Alana, Pete, and I out for a night on the town…. which ended up being a night that we would. Some main takeaways from our food tour:. Less fatty salami means lighter flavor.

The Perfect Dansk Pastry. The City of Lights →. The Rubins are Taking Over Copenhagen. November 4, 2012. A few weeks ago I was lucky enough to be graced by the presence of my amazing parents, Melba and Steve. I wasn’t surprised that their coolness helped them become a big hit amongst my friends here in Denmark. We started off their visit right with a trip to N. I’m so proud. My parents were really fortunate that Tivoli, Copenhagen’s vintage amusement park, was open for Halloween. The light disp...D, the ...

The Perfect Dansk Pastry. A quick thought on the train →. November 22, 2012. We Americans knew that being away from home wouldn’t be easy this Thanksgiving season. So, some of us decided to bring a little taste of home here to the Folkehøjskole by cooking a Thanksgiving feast for all the Danes. A full menu of traditional foods was brainstormed and presented to the main chief of the school. Everything was planned out perfectly and we were ready for the big meal. In order to make the dinner successful, it ...

Monthly Archives: August 2012. Not as Easy as I Thought…. August 27, 2012. Let me tell you from personal experienceit’s really, really difficult to cross the Atlantic Ocean…especially when you are taking classes. I doubt that many people know what it is like trying to deeply concentrate on 50 pages of Atlantic Oceanography History while also trying to keep from falling off a chair from the rough waters of that very same ocean you’re reading about. It sounds a lot more glorifying than it actually is.

Monthly Archives: October 2012. October 19, 2012. At the end of the ceremony, there was a traditional shaving of the head. Don’t worry I didn’t partake in the shaving of my head, but most of the guys and some of the girls did. I joke that now when we get into ports, countries are going to think all 20-something Americans are bald! At approximately 14:40, we were in the center of the world: 0’0. Looking out on the back deck, one would have thought it was a New Years Eve party! Leaps of Faith in Ghana.

Monthly Archives: November 2012. Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. November 23, 2012. From before the voyage began, I was most excited about visiting Rio de Janeiro. Not only is it hosting the World Cup in 2014, but also the Olympics in 2016! This city is on the rise and being there was one of the best experiences of this voyage. The first day, my friends and I visited Ipanema and Copacabana, which are both very famous beaches in Brazil and for good reasons! Buenos Aires, Argentina. November 23, 2012. The first da...

Cape Town, South Africa! Buenos Aires, Argentina →. November 23, 2012. With that being said, friends and I went jogging miles into the city center away from the dangerous area of Montevideo and the scenes from the center of the city looked just like they were out of a Los Angeles waterfront! Seeing this, it became quite apparent to me that the disparity level between the rich and the poor is extremely large (which reminds me how important a middle class it to a society). A Snapshot of Europe In Photos. Leaps of Faith in Ghana →. Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Canary Islands. October 9, 2012. View from the ship. The first day, my friends and I toured the city of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, which involved visiting a huge market that is held in the square every Sunday. The market reminded me of a huge yard sale or flea market almost. After our visit to the market, we stumbled upon a beautiful beach that we later learned had sad imported to the islands from the Sahara Desert! This is w...

https://semesteratseablog.wordpress.com/2012/11/23/buenos-aires-argentina
Rio de Janeiro, Brazil →. Buenos Aires, Argentina. November 23, 2012. Coming into Buenos Aires I had absolutely no expectations of what I was going to see or do. I really never thought I would see Argentina in my whole life just because it’s not a huge place that North American citizens venture into. That being said, the city of Buenos Aires was beautiful, welcoming, and quite charming. Buenos Aires was filled with adventure and was the first time many of us on the voyage had been into South America!

Like many others, I'm going to start my blog post with an apologia. I suppose it's to be expected at the end of the semester. In the prologue to The Nun's Priest's Tale. The Knight expresses his dissatisfaction with the Monk's tale, and the Host agrees, asking him "hertely telle us somwhat elles; . Sir, sey somwhat of huntyng, I yow preye." (3983, 2805). However, the Monk refuses, and instead the Nun's Priest takes a turn, to tell the tale of Chaunticleer and Pertelote. I'm sure we're all shocked. Cometh...

The Perfect Dansk Pastry. And other Denmark discoveries through the eyes (and stomach) of Becca Rubin. December 26, 2012. Here is a little something I wrote on the plane while waiting to take off from the Copenhagen airport. It’s taken me awhile to add it to the blog…. guess I just didn’t want to admit that some of the most amazing months of my life were over. Luckily I gained, saw and learned so much from the experience that my time in Denmark will never truly be forgotten. A quick thought on the train.
