The Philosopher's Bride

Saturday, March 1, 2014. A day in the life of an Oily Mom . As I pulled out my oils again, I began to think about just how often we use essential oils in our home now. Just 2 months ago, I rarely, if ever used oils and now my children often ask for them. We take our oils everywhere. I was thinking through the day and how we used them and decided to share. I will begin with last night, to give you a full 24 hours! 10pm -It's way past bedtime but the big girls complain of not feeling well so I make some te...

The Philosopher's Bride: Homeschool, the 2nd Year.

http://thephilosophersbride.blogspot.com/2012/08/homeschool-2nd-year.html

Thursday, August 30, 2012. Homeschool, the 2nd Year. I have had a lot of questions as the new year starts, about which curriculum I am using for the girls. Esther is going into first grade, and Rachel, even though she just turned 4 a few weeks ago, is raring to go, so she is starting K, and doing really really well, she is 100% ready for the work she is doing. So here is what we are using so far:. PHONICS - Explode the Code. We like Explode the code because it moves at a pace that both challenges the gir...

The Philosopher's Bride: Pain in the offering.

http://thephilosophersbride.blogspot.com/2011/09/pain-in-offering.html

Monday, September 12, 2011. Pain in the offering. Friendship. We are under the illusion at times that friends should be people whom are easy for us to get along, our minds work the same way, we laugh at the same things, we cry over the same movies, we parent our children the same way, we enjoy the activities and generally, it comes with ease, other than the small tiffs that are quickly made up. This draws me to one conclusion. That every person we encounter, each made in God's image, can teach us mor...

The Philosopher's Bride: New Year Resolutions...

http://thephilosophersbride.blogspot.com/2013/01/new-year-resolutions.html

Tuesday, January 1, 2013. I thought so much about 2013, about THIS blog. I had eloquent words, wisdom, high hopes. Then this morning I woke up feeling quite wretched. After months of exhausting, morning aches of pregnancy, my 2 year old waking up at 5am, I had developed the habit of immediately putting on Thomas the tank engine, then drifting off on the sofa to sleep. It was 6 hours into 2013 and I had already failed. Time to sit quietly with the children. More time to soak up and observe the simple thin...

Journey to the Proverbs 31 Woman. About Learning to Live It. Tag Archives: meal planning. Stop Planning Your Meals! September 14, 2014. I hate meal planning. Okay, I love meal planning. I mean… There are a ton of benefits to meal planning, but it’s such a drag every week. I’m not sure why, but I tend to get a mental block when it comes to decision-making. That’s why I always planned two weeks at a time! Posted in Simple Stewardship. Make It and Love It. The Philosopher’s Bride. Revelations and Other Stuff.

I don't want to go to school". Our sweet little Jeremiah is officially in school. Today is his first day of preschool and he was not so thrilled about it (to say the least). We were all smiles right before hopping into the car (that smile sure makes this mamas heart melt). But as we walked down the hallway, the "I don't want to go to school" started (oh those eyes! We found his hook where he'll be hanging his backpack and coat, talked about all the little boys who we're. She very excitedly chose sliced a...

Someone "losed" his first tooth. And it only took 30 minutes of tears with a repetative "Please, mommy, PLEASE put it back in! PUT IT BACK IN! I need my tooth back in right now! Before he decided losing a tooth isn't really the worst thing in the world - in fact he's sort of proud) ;-). Asher is at that hilarious copycat stage now where everything out of his mouth is just beyond adorable (and usually pretty funny - especially to the other kids! Some of his latest 'asher-isms':. Nah-nee" = night night.

Of course he's not holding his toys. Oh no, so much better. He has (one in each hand of course, because he's Asher) a turd. Oh yes, one fresh turd. And he's offering it to me. I can just hear his thoughts, "Hey mama, I have something for you. Never felt this before. It's warm.*examining it*. and sorta squishy. Want some? Lucky for me, those two were not the only treasures of the bath. I got to scoop out two. Moral of the story:. Never let an innocent tub toot go unnoticed. Hi, I'm Asher and I'm ONE now!

Hope for the Future. Welcome to my World. 183; 3171 days ago. If you are not an introvert you may be surprised to learn that the universe is not only something you engage outside of yourself.
