A remedial student needs to be continually reassured that they are not stupid, they are smart; their troubles are the fault of the method used to teach them to read, not anything they have done. They need to read a lot of nonsense words. This helps eliminate guessing- they will never be able to guess a fake word! Use nonsense words. I've never made an ice-cream cake before and had a brainwave whilst chatting to Bugsy about what kind of cake he might like. He loved my suggestion so we went with that. I've never seen this done before, but I've seen similar concepts, I just winged it :-). First thing your going to need is a pudding bowl, or a similar plastic bowl. 2-4 packets of classic Oreo biscuits (I used 2 packets). 1 jumbo packet of Maltesers.

Feather on a Breeze. Saturday, August 4, 2012. Big drum roll for Possum. At 1 year and 10 months. What a long time coming that has been! We had a review with the paediatrician this past week and he was satisfied that Possum is finally putting on some weight even though it's very slow. She had purchased several packs of pencils, all came with DVD's and she had several copies of the same one. Her children had enjoyed it and she thought mine would too. Here are their final products.
