Marriage, Thirteen Years Later | THE PICKLE PATCH
http://thepicklepatch.com/2015/07/28/marriage-thirteen-years-later
Life Motherhood. Vermont. (Not necessarily in that order). Marriage, Thirteen Years Later. July 20, 2002, 8 AM. I spent the night with my mother at The Colony Club on Park Avenue in New York City, where the wedding reception will take place. I didn’t sleep much; I was too excited. Instead, I finished reading. The Things They Carried,. Tim O’Brien’s masterful novel about the Vietnam War: an odd reading choice for a bride-to-be, perhaps, but it definitely takes my mind off of the wedding. Be a Pickle Pal!

Changing My Mind | THE PICKLE PATCH
http://thepicklepatch.com/2015/06/30/changing-my-mind
Life Motherhood. Vermont. (Not necessarily in that order). It can be humbling to write a bi-weekly newspaper column: Few things more effectively highlight one’s capacity for change or inconsistency, denial, and flip-flopping. I’m not convinced that this is a bad thing; isn’t the point of individual human existence to grow and change? Isn’t it natural that the ideas expressed in a column should evolve along with the human writing that column? It has been nearly three years since I began writing Faith in V...

For the past year. It all began with a dream:. What if we lived with a little less house, on a little more land? What if we grew and raised more of what we eat? Life Motherhood. Vermont. (Not necessarily in that order). Category Archives: Thoughts on Life. Of Ticks and Fear. Mommy, is that a tick? My seven-year-old daughter asks. She’s looking in the bathroom mirror, pointing to a small black speck under her chin. Our family’s move earlier this month from the woods to the fields has not only entailed a change in scenery, but also a change in the pests that plague us: We’ve moved from Mosquitoland to Tickville. Our family moved last week. For the past year. Last ...

Still the flowers grow. Wednesday, July 1, 2015. Gearing up for baseball season! Wearing one of Joseph’s sweatshirts and boots, plus the pink leggings. Kills me. Just after holding his hand up in victory. I never seem to be able to get the right timing to document that. Coach consulting. This was a good day for Joseph and I think having the coach- who is AWESOME in such a calm but fun, respectful and hardworking way—on his mat really helped Joseph. . Then we colored eggs and made a bigggggg mess.

Still the flowers grow. Tuesday, July 15, 2014. Joseph’s Spongebob Bday Party. Obviously, I am very tardy in posting this. I don’t know how all you super on-time bloggers do it! 160; I wont spend a lot of money on crappy prepackaged stuff, but I’ll give it a shot. (I still like to think I’ll be able to avoid all the princess-ish stuff with Nora, but see that it’s just as likely I’ll eat those words too). We were confirming our plans for the following night; I was focusing on the priorities. Courtney had emailed the week before: Do you want to butcher three chickens with me?
