The Picky Eater Chronicles

The Picky Eater Chronicles. Thursday, February 7, 2013. Hey at least she's drawing fruit. I think I'd like one of the sparkly avocado looking thingies that are second from the right. Too bad it costs $20. I'm trying to figure out what the pricing means- is it that she assumes that fruit is expensive since I push it so hard (as in don't waste that fruit because it cost me a mint)? Or is it just an acknowledgement that these look like some very rare fruits? Wednesday, February 6, 2013. And I made a salad).

The Picky Eater Chronicles: Unpredictable

http://thepickyeaterchronicles.blogspot.com/2013/02/unpredictable.html

The Picky Eater Chronicles. Wednesday, February 6, 2013. The lastest vegetable that my kids are willing to eat is plain, raw baby spinach. Nothing on it and god forbid that they have to eat cooked spinach, or that it get the least bit limp around the edges but I can get them to nibble their way through a decent sized bowl of the (fresh) stuff. Turns out that theory of iceberg being a "gateway" lettuce was not bad. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.

The Picky Eater Chronicles: January 2013

http://thepickyeaterchronicles.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html

The Picky Eater Chronicles. Friday, January 18, 2013. From the library which might prove a longer term solution). Last night the girl critter led in making two recipes from the March 2012 issue: Rigatoni with Broccoli and Sausage. And I made a salad). The cookies were fine- nothing special and certainly not enough maple flavor to merit the inclusion in the title. We made them a little healthier than the recipe called for by substituting in white whole wheat flour for the all purpose.

The Picky Eater Chronicles: grrrrr

http://thepickyeaterchronicles.blogspot.com/2012/11/grrrrr.html

The Picky Eater Chronicles. Tuesday, November 20, 2012. I'm feeling rather pissy. I just got a notice that they are stopping Everyday Food and turning it into a quarterly supplement for regular Martha Stewart Living. The monthly magazine was perfect. For my kids-learning-to-cook project and MSL sure as hell won't be (talk about fussy.). So, is there a similar monthly magazine that anyone can point me to? November 20, 2012 at 5:26 PM. Oh, this is so sad! I never make the Martha recipes. I am so bummed abo...

The Picky Eater Chronicles: May 2012

http://thepickyeaterchronicles.blogspot.com/2012_05_01_archive.html

The Picky Eater Chronicles. Tuesday, May 22, 2012. My kids ate Kale Chips! And didn't scream (at me, each other, or the universe in general)! For reminding me of this way of getting green stuff into their mouths. I made these for them once before, but I think I kind of burned them. I liked them (but then I dig around in the potato chip bag for the burned ones and like my toast just short of black) but the kids didn't and so I dropped it. They both ingested kale! Four Obsessions: perpetually shifting between cooking, reading, knitting and writing: Waking up

http://4obsessions.blogspot.com/2013/01/waking-up.html

Four Obsessions: perpetually shifting between cooking, reading, knitting and writing. A place for friends and fellow obsessors to gather. Friday, January 18, 2013. I think (hope) it's time to wake up this blog again. Since I went dormant here*, we have mostly completed a major construction project which doubled the size of our previously wee home. I love the new space, but can't say I loved the process. It took over my life and not in a good way. Then we moved on to a plate piled high with maple mustard ...

Friday, January 14, 2011. Hey everyone, I don't think I'm going to have time for anything other than my writing for a while, so I'm transferring all my poetry to a different blog. When I get some free time from school I will do my best to post more craft stuff. My new blog is accountingformythoughts.blogspot.com. Hope to see you there! Thursday, January 13, 2011. The Picky Eater Review. Cafe Irazu (1865 Milwaukee Ave.). Charlie Trotter’s (816 West Armitage Avenue). Simply put, it didn’t live up to the hype. We went with a big party, and while the service was great, and we’re all glad we did it…it just wasn’t good. Food came out cold, fish overcooked, and unless it’s in cake…I don’t want to see sponge in my food ever again. We also all … Continue reading →. Filed under Lincoln Park. The Picky Eater's Food Critic

The Picky Eater's Food Critic. A blog by a picky eater for picky eaters and the people who feed them. Tuesday, April 10, 2012. Homemade pizza tastes nice, and I like making it from scratch. I like pepperoni and a fine sprinkling of spinach on my pizza. We often make two pizzas, so the second can be a combo pizza, with olives, pepperoni, mushroom, and spinach. Pizza is fun to make as a family. And it doesn't take very long. Pizza Dough for the Bread Machine. Makes 2 pizzas, 8 wedges each. 2 Tbls olive oil.
